Hi Terri and Everyone,

Terri, I know exactly what you are going through and can totally sympathize.

I have learned over the past 15 years of being sick to be very selective in

who I talk with about my illness. So many will pass judgment or say things

like, you don't look sick, maybe you should just go back to work, etc.....

These comments hurt so bad.

These people do not live in your shoes and cannot feel the pain we go through

day in and day out.

I have some friends and family that i NEVER talk with about my illness, kind

of surface relationships and then I have my true true friends and

family(hubby) that I can talk with about anything. I feel so blessed to have

these people in my life, so blessed! The Lord has brought many special people

in my life, including all of you:)

Choose to talk with people who listen with there heart and if they don't,

then I choose not to discuss my illness with them at all.

Terri, keep your chin up:) I hope things get better for you. Remember we are

Hi All and Terri,

I've had the same problems for years. No one wants to acknowledge that I'm

not well. They all act like I'm nuts. But I hear about all of their

friends and friends childrens' chronic illnesses and how awful it is for

them. They have so many problems. It's so very frustrating not to have

their support.

Hi Terri,

Are we sisters?? I have the exact same problem with my family. I

don't know if you read about my Thanksgiving fiasco or not, but suffice

it to say -- it spoke volumes!!

As a result of that mess, I will not be going over there to be with my

"family" on Christmas. According to my mother, I do not deserve

special accomodations because everyone else is just as tired, and my

mom's foot hurts, and my sister has a really bad sinus infection and

headaches too. I got zero consideration on Thanksgiving, and

apparently it would only happen again on Christmas. I was in

severe pain, had a migraine, then got sick from that and wasn't

recovered from it for over a week! No thanks!

My mom is an ER RN and always pulls that depression crap on me as well.

Yes, I am depressed; who wouldn't be in this situation?? But I am

taking what I can for it, and am handling it quite well by myself! I

won't see a psychiatrist because the last two I saw verbally abused me

(I kid you not!), and I now think they are all blood-sucking

money-grubbing jerks! (And to think I was studying to be a

psychologist when I had to drop out of college!) I nearly reported one

of those shrinks, and should have!

Anyway -- enough about that! Just wanted you to know that you are

definitely NOT alone!! My fiance is so mad at my mother over something

she said to me yesterday that he nearly called and reamed her out!! Feel free to write and we can commiserate!!
