Guest guest
Kathy, It sounds like you and have a lot in common with the arthritis. It is her worst enemy right now. She could manage PLS if it weren't for the arthritis. She is house bound to the degree if she goes out it is with scooter or electric wheelchair. but that isn't often. She doesn't have the headaches that you do. She just got thru with a series of shots from the Dr. that is supposed to replace the lubricating gel or fluid in the knee joint. We also have two beasties which livens up our lives. (Gray) My father was born in Sawbridgeworth, England which I believe is north of London. He came to America via Canada in the early 1900s I still have relatives in England but have lost track of them. Best wishes from Byron and Florida
Guest guest
Welcome Katey: This is a great group to belong to. You'll find lots of friendship, information, and support here. Every once in awhile we get kind of fiesty, and argumentative, but at least we're not boring. Nice to have you aboard. Guest guest
Hi, I have a friend who is from Devon. I have always wanted to go to England. I have two four legged beasties (orange tabbies) named after Medieval knights. Athough I love reading about the era I wouldn't want to have lived during that time. I am homebound because my PLS has progressed to a point where I can do very little plus I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and get migraines regularly. I still manage to keep busy. Supposedly, if you keep busy it helps prevent going crazy. Is that good? Maybe.........................kathy Allandale Hotel wrote: > greetings fron London, England > MY NAME IS KATEY HUSSEIN, I HAVE HAD PLS FOR 12 YEARS. I'M 43, MARRIED FOR > 24 YEARS. Guest guest
Hi, Most of my relatives came to the US via Canada around the same time as yours. I also have relatives in Cornwald, England but have not kept in touch with them. I have a scooter but it doesn't do me much good in the snow. I, like most I know around here are sick of snow and cold weather. I don't think I could deal with the shots to the knee. I get shots for my headaches but it is injected into the fat of my leg which means if necessary there is lots of room. ttfn.......................................k cca4326794@... wrote: > Kathy, It sounds like you and have a lot in common with the arthritis. > It is her worst enemy right now. Guest guest
Katey: Welcome to our little world. My name is Rita, have has PLS for well over 25 years now, and still do pretty well functioning everyday. I believe in altitude and listening to your body is how I have approached my battle with this disease. This is a great group, and I have been fortunate enough to meet with 20 other PLSer's. If you have questions this is the group that will give you answers. My neighbor next door just returned from England (Cornwall), and just can't wait to return. The picture's she took are fantastic (also she met a man on line, that helped her enjoy the visit that much more. Hope you enjoy being here, and if you ever decide to come back and visit the states let us know. We don't live to far from NY. I live in New Hampshire. Guest guest
Welcome Katey, I'm glad you have joined. I am 40 and the mother of 2 boys (ages 14 & 11). I am curious how long ago did you get diagnosed? Did your dr. believe you had a problem right away? I was just diagnosed last Sept. and have only had symptoms for a year befor that. Again, welcome!
