WELL MY OLD NEURO WAS EVEN TRYING MONTHLY SOLUMEDROL

FOR 3 DAYS. THAT WAS BACK IN THE AVONEX DAYS WHICH DID

NOTHING FOR ME. I CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY CUZ THE ROIDS

DO PULL ME OUT OF EXACERBATIONS AS MUCH AS I HATE EM.

THEN WE TRIED LDN, PLASMA EXCHANGE AND WERE GOING TO

DO TYSABRI BUT THEN IT WAS PULLED. SO WE TRIED CHEMO

AND NOW COPAXONE WHICH IS WORKING. YAY! I'VE BEEN ON

PREDNISONE 10MG A DAY FOR OVER A YEAR AND A HALF NOW.

BASICALLY, MY FILLINGS STARTED FALLING OUT AND WHERE

THE GUMS MEET THE TEETH ALL HAVE CAVATIES/HOLES AT THE

GUM LINE. I'VE BEEN DIAGNOSED A LIL OVER 2.5 YEARS

NOW. I'M 31 AND NUMBER 4 IN MY FAMILY TO BE DX'D. I DO

NOT HAVE RRMS, NEVER DID. I HAVE CRMS. MY OLDER SIS

HAS PPMS WHICH I DISAGREE WITH. SORRY IF YOU JUST

MEANT THE ROID BACKGROUND.

I would never do steroids, but this makes sense because I've read that some

people who do take a lot of steroids end up having to have knee and hip

replacements at some point. I guess if it can destroy bone, it can destroy

tooth enamel.

Natural modalities like diet and supplements would be much better to do. Best

Bet Diet, Swank or some other MS diet.

LDN www.lowdosenaltrexone.org can stop progression of MS, also.

Funny you should mention this: I just read today that *A Deficiency of

Vitamin C Ascorbic Acid causes " dental enamel to be of poor quality " .

Maybe the Steriods reduced your Vitamin C levels. I'll mail article.

This was from either MedLLine or another reliable medical paper. A.

PS Rose-Hips are good: also Green Peppers;all Berries(hope they don't

stain my teeth!);Cantaloupe;Kiwi;Tomatoes;Tomatoes high in Lycopene. --

Remember: don't over cook your fruits; veggies; or berries. Soups

(carrots;tomatoes)are always good because you reserve the veggie broth

for the soup. In this way the Vitamins are preserved like Beta-Carotene.

Tip: " The Beta-Carotene in Cooked Carrots is not lost due to cooking. "

I know this is unrelated to the discussion, but I want to point out the

solumedrol, prednisone and all the other related steroid meds have one,

very serious, side effect. Some people experience what's called

" prednisone related psychosis " It's different for everyone who

experiences it, but for me, I fall into a deep, suicidal, violent

depression. I become uncontrollably angry and violent towards anyone

around me. I've been known to hit a co-worker and even tried to drink a

gallon of bleach once, under the influence of prednisone. And when it's

all over with and I'm off the med, I don't remember a thing. The entire

week of prednisone treatment is a total blank.

I used to take prednisone a couple times a year for severe asthma.

(usually a one week taper down treatment) .. needless to say, I don't

take it anymore regardless of how badly I'm breathing.

In it's milder form, prednisone induced psychosis looks like severe

depression.

I hope this info helps someone.
