I just wanted to say that the dr I spoke with says that cytomel is nasty stuff and many of his patients have a hard time with it so he takes them off. He didnt go into detail, as I was just glad to hear that Im not the only one. I have to say, my stoach is still injured from the week of cytomel...I got of and it seemed to heal in about 2 weeks..but then I tried it again, and its been weeks, yet it still feels ulcerated. Im sure with time ill be okay. I just thought I should pass it along, since noone had heard of problems like mine before.

Is it common to feel like you need more cytomel in the beginning oftreatment? I just switched armour for cytomel. I don't feel better orworse than when on armour but within 3 hours or so of taking cytomel,I feel worse--more hypoT., eye muscle pain, and cold. I feel likepeppermint oil cold.....does anyone understand that?I took 37.5 mcg. today. I took a small stress dose, just to see, butthat didn't help. Once t4 is cleared better, will cytomel feel likeit's staying longer? Sorry for so many questions, just feel bad.------------------------------------

I don't know what you mean by " more hypo " but the pain and cold sound

like you are running out of cortisol when you take the T3.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm assuming that you were swallowing the cytomel? I haven't heard of anyone having stomach problems with it.

I thought of that too. I took extra HC and it didn't help. But,

you're right. I've tried for a year and a half to get my cortisol

dose right and I'm just making myself crazy. I'm taking 6mg medrol

plus 10-15mg HC. I still wake in the night needing more or I can't go

back to sleep.

Yep, aldosterone and renin very low. I'm on florinef and Rx

potassium. Today, I took 25mcg in the morning and 25mcg around noon.

I feel a little better today, not as depressed.

What's strange is that my heart gets a little poundy after about 4

hours after taking cytomel, as it's wearing off. I would think it

would be the other way around?

OK, that gives me encouragement. A doctor a year ago told me that I

had a hypoT. heart. I never understood what he was talking about. He

said slow heart beat/sounds but could have a pounding sensation. Thank

you!!

Yeah, doctors can't see the whole picture. You do go hyper-like

because your body isn't strong enough to handle what it needs due to

low cortisol.

WHY dont doctors know this. The minute I tell a doctor that Im

shaking, they will reduce thyroid and no way no how , more isocort.
