hmm.. now I only ever hear that as Tinel's sign, and it's listed in Stedman's

Ortho under sign, but not under test. Interesting.

I would just like to add that one of the docs I transcribe for says Tinel's

and Phalen's together a lot when doing a physical exam as in " Tinel's and

Phalen's are negative. "

That would be Tinel's test. It is hard to find a word when the doc pronounces

it so badly that you think it starts with something different. Margaret

Hi All,

I know this must be an easy one, but I cannot reference this test the way I

am hearing it.

She has moderate tingling of her ulnar nerve with tapping on her wrist. She

has full and equal grip strength. s/l Phinell's test is negative.

Can someone help?

Could be Phalen's or Tinel's,

looks like you've got a little of each! :-)

Jan, According to Dorland's, Phalen's is a maneuver and Tinel's is a sign, so I

wasn't seeing either one actually under test. I guess I went for the back end

of the word and the rest of you all went by the beginning of the word. Sorry to

add to the confusion. Maybe the doc was really trying to say both, but just

either cut off the tape or couldn't remember each of them so he combined the two

together. Hope that doesn't make it too confusing.

Re: Test

Got it here in IN, Jane. Isn't it a good feeling to be back on line? I couldn't get on the Net for about two days and my email really piled up. I missed the daily writings on PLS-FRIENDS. Welcome back Mike Gray Logansport IN King wrote:

Hi agr,

I am sure you will get a lot of replies, but Extraprostatic

Extension simply means that the cancer has extended

or spread beyond the prostate capsule margins. This

diagnosis may mean that the cancer is more aggressive.

I wish you all the bestAubrey Pilgrim, DC (Ret.) Pl let me know if anyone knows what is Extraprostatic Extension, which i found in Partin's table. Thanks
