Hi ,

I understand what you were discussing, but it seemed there were some

statements about supplements in general. And I didn't want the " inexperianced " to

get the impression that supplements wern't worth while. Am I cured? My tests

don't see Afib anymore. I don't have the fatigue as before. They say I don't

look my age. The probiotics and the omega threes' were the most important things

I did, but all the rest were important too. And about the sex thing, the gaurds

down at the old ladies home are on the alert about me. ...RP

dietary changes make them even better, but the good one are still good. They

On the other hand, perhaps if I had the motivation and discipline as you, and

did the things you do I may be even better. Hard to do with a spouse that fights

me about a healthy diet. She will take the supplements if I put them in her

hand. And she is the better for it. Would be much better with the diet also. I'm

working on it. ...RP

Hi Rich,

I think I better clarify for everyone. Food does not do anything to the

body on its own. The body requires food and the nutrients from it to

survive. When it gets these things then its able to defend, repair and

restore itself daily. The body is wired from birth to know how to fix

things. It would be like dropping off a huge load of lumber and other

building materials at a property. Without the builder they would be

useless. The house would not get built and the materials would just be

wasted. So my point is that supplements are not the cure, the body in

its magnificent design is the only thing that fix itself. Just cut your

hand any day and see it go to work!

As far as supplements, I take $250.00 worth every month and also spend

2x as much on diet as the average person so I can eat all organic, I

know the value of giving my body the best raw materials.

Your welcome, hope my analogy made sense. The FDA does not allow any

" cure " type claims to be made when it comes to any foods or supplements.

They are really doing us all a favor cause so many go looking for the

magic cure pill. If you start taking a particular supplement and then

wait for some magical thing to happen most will be sadly disappointed.

We all have to find out what systems are in need of raw materials, and

then support them the best we can.

When it comes to looking for quality supplements, one way to see if a

company is less then ethical is to see if they make health claims.

Since its illegal then you can figure they don't care about the law. If

a company does not abide by the law they also don't care about making

quality products either. With the FDA's new rules that just went into

effect, many companies will be shut down and go out of business. They

are requiring that any supplement company be able to prove via testing

that what they say is in the bottle is actually in there. Gee what a

concept, truth in labeleing.

This is where I still disagree, I don't believe enough nutrients are in

the foods. Organic foods are still picked before ripening and if the

nutrients stay in the roots until then, that is where they still are

when these farmers are picking them! More and more studies are being

done to show this fact. I do think you work way harder at trying

to get enough nutrients through juicing but if it takes 53 peaches to

get enough Vitamin A for a day how is that possible? I think eating the

way you do does not add much in the way of toxic garbage to your body

which helps the body work so much better. I still question whether or

not your body would have enough raw materials with which to build new

healthy cells, tissue, muscles, and nerves. My grandmother and mother

both supplemented their diet and that was many years ago, and my mom

still today. My grandma dying when she was 99 with no diseases, and mom

still at 84 going strong. Back then cod liver oil, lecithin, brewer

yeast, parsley, garlic, we ate ever single day as part of our diet, it

was not considered supplementing but just part of a normal routine. I

consider my supplement pill part of my normal diet really, like food in

a bottle. Its a sad reality that we must eat this way these day, but

then so is everything else in this world a sad reality.

Hi n,

I shop many times per week and have 4 favorite stores. Just can't seem

to settle for less then that, I like the best deals and also certain

brands are the favorites and so I have to keep shopping like this. I

wish I could do it all in one place but so far no luck! Has anyone tried

Lundbergs Rice Chips, they are sooooo good, can't live without them.

Hi ,

Yep that is true, as my last post stated the makers of these will soon

have to start answering for their quality. It won't take away all the

bad and synthetic but at least people will know what the bottle says is

true. Good manufacturing practices will be the norm.People who eat dead

processed foods all day long will tend to buy dead processed

supplements. Money is what makes peoples decisions for health, always

will be that way. I don't know why but most do not place their health as

a priority. Our bodies are absolutely amazing that they can withstand

the amount of abuse we dish out. Can you imagine any machine that would

take the wrong kind of fluids or fuels??? They just blow up pretty

quickly when that happens.

When it comes to how much of a particular nutrient the body needs, well

the body will use what it needs and discard the rest. Just like when

you eat all your smoothies and vegies. Just because a person loves

oranges and eat 10 per day does not mean the body will utilize them just

because they were in whole food form. So the same thing will happen with

bottled nutrients, the body will use or try to use in the case of

synthetics what it needs and discard the rest. Of course it seems

wasteful but then that is what the body makes from food we eat also, waste.

As far as lecithin and brewer yeast, I don't use those today but my

family was never sick, and I mean never. I never even had the normal

child hood illnesses such as chicken pox, measles or mumps. I never

heard of the flu, did not know what it was, allergies, never had those

either. So if lecithin and brewer yeast were unhealthy it sure did not

show in our family. I forgot we also used to take knox gelatin every

day, m y mom said it was for strong bones and stuff. Well all of us, my

mom and 3 sisiters and 1 brother have never broken a bone and also have

perfect teeth. None of us, not one has any cavities, perhaps genetic

thing but these bits of info is what forms your opinions for life.

I was mostly trying to make a point that 50-70 years ago my ancestors

still supplemented their diets. They ate no processed foods, grew their

own meats and vegies and yet they still felt the need to add more

concentrated nutrition. They ate fish, most of the time fresh caught and

yet still took cod liver oil every day. The parsley on the plate at the

restaurant was meant to eat but most don't use it, we ate it every day

almost, and now days people take garlic tabs instead of fresh garlic. I

use to eat 3 fresh cloves of garlic every day even through my teenage

years. So anyway, we as always will have to agree to disagree on whether

supplements are necessary or not. I will take them as long as I can

afford them. My kids are like the best examples of what happens when

coming off of the supplements. They go back and forth with their

routines of using them. They always come back to using them as they

start to get allergies, low energy and their faces seem to break out

more. Always at that point they come back around asking for stuff. The

average person eats just like them, so where would they be without any

help in a bottle???

Hi ,

Did you read my next post to Rich? The body is what heals itself when

given the supplements, its just a matter of how its explained. You can

go back and read the post to Rich.

I love all the flavors but sesame and seaweed are my favorites! Luckily

I have a store close by that carries them, would have to buy them online

if they ever stop selling them!
