, This is one of those where you really have to look at what the word is

referring to. Osteo refers to bone, arthro refers to joints/articulation, and

athero refers to relationship to an atheroma (a mass of plaque of degenerated,

thickened arterial intimia occuring in atherosclerosis), with atherosclerosis

being an extremely common form of arteriosclerosis. So in other words,

arthrosclerosis would be in the joints, osteosclerosis would be in the bones,

and atherosclerosis would be in the blood vessels. Since you have mentioned the

aorta and the iliac vessel (yes iliac rather than ileac here), then it would be

atherosclerosis. Margaret

CT scan of abdomen showed extensive osteoarthritis and *arthroscleroses or

atherosclerosis* of abdominal aorta. The CT scan of pelvis showed possible

fibroid of uterus, osteoarthritis of hip, and * arthrosclerosis athersclerosis*

of ileac vessel.

I always get confused with these. It almost sounds more like osteosclerosis but

I don't think that fits.

TIA

Thanks Margaret. I'm going to print this one and save it for future
