Guest guest
Ask Sandy if it feels like its on both of her back sides that raps around to under her stomach? I thought I had a double kidney infection....would lay on my back all the time and I was out of breath. Felt like someone was squeezing me. I don't deal with anything anymore.... Here to help, Dawn nagra101 wrote: Hello all, Just wondered if anyone has experienced a piercing pain in their back (mid-section). My wife Sandi has been experiencing this pain a couple of times a day for the last few days - the pain lasts for about 10 seconds but it is really excruciating. Sandi says it feels as if a set of claws are dug deep into her back - this renders her motionless and in serious pain. This leads to her front mid-section feeling tight and she feels short of breath. Sandi's diet has not changed at all for quite some time now - she's been on the BBD (and supps) for just under a year and has for the majority of time felt very well. Sandi has been stressed out at work during the last week and admits she had got very worked up at work the other day to the point that she had a spasm in her arm (normally she only ever gets spasms the day before, and on the 1st day of her menstrual cycle). I advised her that she should not go to work at all this week but she insisted on going in today and then she only needs to go in on Friday and then she has holidays for a week (Sandi's currently in that mode where she knows best, so I thought I had better leave her to it ;-) ) Any thoughts or advice? Guest guest
Hi Pinda, My guess is that your wife's pain is due to job-related stress. Here is a good site for information about managing stress: http://64516451dd.stresstips.hop.clickbannk.net Other things that MSers have found helpful in treating MS can be found at http://tinyurl.com/grpm9 All the best, Dudley Delany http://profiles.yahoo.com/dudley_delany

Guest guest
Hi Pinda, I would think that the things that Sandi has done to help with leg pain will also eventually help with her sharp back pains. It could be nerve related being brought on my muscle tension. Even just sitting at a desk can bring this on if she is compensating somewhere or sitting crooked or doing repetitive motion things. Some Calcium/Magnesium would work well to help the muscles relax better, also fish oil to help inflammation and her stress levels. I have two problems areas that cause me problems and I have learned the stretches and pressure points to work which help alot. Tennis balls work great pressed in against the back lying on the bed or even up against a wall to get deeper into the muscle and relieve the knots. Hope this helps. nagra101 wrote: > > Hello all, > > Just wondered if anyone has experienced a piercing pain in their > back (mid-section). Guest guest
I do not really want to even type the word, but in my case it was SCIATICA. In my husband's case it was kidney stones. There ARE some conditions that do require conventional med ical practice (love that term!), love to all with pain like this, n --------- Excruciating sporadic back pain...... > > > Hello all, > > Just wondered if anyone has experienced a piercing pain in their > back (mid-section). Guest guest
how is her blood pressure? could this be cardiac related? Excruciating sporadic back pain...... Guest guest
Hi Pinda, we all should check our pulse now and then. Should be steady, and not too fast or too slow. I strongly suggest marine lippids " fish oil " supplements. ......RP nagra101 wrote: Hello all, Just wondered if anyone has experienced a piercing pain in their back (mid-section). Guest guest
Hi, Thank you for all your responses.... We spoke to a doctor and described the pain - his diagnosis was that its probably not kidney related. Sandi's blood pressure appears to be ok....but we will keep monitioring it. The pain does not feel orthapeadic as it is very intense but short- lived - so that rules out the sciatica. Sandi takes omega 3 caps daily (but not the marine lipid type) - maybe Sandi can try them once her current batch of caps has finished. Sandi's diet has not changed so I reckon (hope) that the exacerbation was caused by stress. Sandi is now off work so hopefully will get better soon. Over the past few days I think the symptoms have lessened a little. Its quite strange really in that the pain happens about 6am every day and then again late in the afternoon. Guest guest
Hi Pinda, Earlier this year I injured my knee during a horse related accident. I did not think it was more then a simple bruise. However within the month I started getting intense, sharp needle hot pain in my knee that would only last a few seconds and then be gone. I finally started realizing the particular movement that brought it on and tried to quit doing that. I received chiropratic adjustments and it did resolve. So anyway it is possiblel that is spine related as a quick pinch can send some major pain which can radiate into place that are not directly located at the site. I would ask your wife what she does at 6am, and then later, does she stretch when arising and then later after a nap perhaps, you have to be your own detective in these things. Good luck. nagra101 wrote: > > Hi, > > Thank you for all your responses.... > > We spoke to a doctor and described the pain - his diagnosis was that > its probably not kidney related. > > Sandi's blood pressure appears to be ok....but we will keep > monitioring it. > > The pain does not feel orthapeadic as it is very intense but short- > lived - so that rules out the sciatica. > > Sandi takes omega 3 caps daily (but not the marine lipid type) - > maybe Sandi can try them once her current batch of caps has finished. > > Sandi's diet has not changed so I reckon (hope) that the > exacerbation was caused by stress.
