Guest guest
How about temazepam (brand name Restoril), usually given in doses of 7.5, 15 or 30 mg. Margaret >>> 03/19/01 07:21PM >>> Doc spells damazapen or damazapem. I cannot find this. I don't think he means diazepam, since he already dictated that. Thanks for any help. Guest guest
Yep-I think it is Propulsid. At first, I thought no because I thought this drug was only for GERD, but I looked in QLDB and it says one of the uses is for refractory constipation. Dosage forms are 10 and 20 mg. Also comes in oral suspension: 1 mg/ml (450 mL). Holly ) In a message dated 3/21/01 2:14:24 PM Eastern Standard Time, mhnick@... writes: << Propulsid maybe? That was another reason I questioned whether it was Propulsid or not for that reason, but I have the QLDB 2001 and it doesn't say anything about it being discontinued in there. Can anyone comment on this? Holly )

I checked on Google, and it has been taken off the market. I've noticed in QLDBE that most of the drugs that have been discontinued are marked as such in the database, but I guess they missed this one. Guest guest
I do a lot of GI outpatient notes and they prescribe Propulsid all the time, but never once have I heard it used as a laxative. But then I found this: Treatment of nocturnal symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), also demonstrated effectiveness for gastroparesis, refractory constipation, and nonulcer dyspepsia. What's QLDBE? I'm using Quick Look Electronic Drug Reference software that I ordered recently. Guest guest
Y'know, I think you're right, I forgot about that. My GI guys have been prescribing Aciphex a lot more these days, and something else I can't remember. Guest guest
Okay real shot in the dark here--methenamine. It is an antibiotic and also a prophylaxis or suppression of recurrent UTIs. Dosage forms are 1 g twice daily or 500 mg/1 g 4 times/day after meals and at bedtime. The brand name for this is Dehydral. I hope this helps!
