Have you tried Aldactone for fluid retention? I'm very happy with my

thyroid/adrenal progress and the only symptom that remains that bothers

me is the fluid. Dr. put me on Aldactone for the extra fluid and I'm

reading the notes on this med and it says " is used to treat high blood

pressure. Lowering high blood pressure hleps prevent strokes, heart

attacks and kidney problems. It is also used to treat swelling caused

by certain conditons eg. congestive heart failure by removing excess

fluid and improving symptoms such as breathing problems. This

medicaiton is also used to treat low potassium levels and conditions in

which the body is making too much of a natural chemical(aldosterone).

Spironolactone is known as a " water pill " (potassium-sparing diurectic).

I do have low potassium and sodium and major swelling. Occasional

breathing problems if swelling gets really bad.

Normally my BP is 121/83 and pulse 86. If I get stressed or over

exercise both go way up. I take 1/2 tsp of sea salt twice daily. 67

mg of Cytomel spread out. 300 mg Seriphos at night (High cortisol,

doing saliva test next week to see if cortisol levels have dropped.

I'm having an aldosterone test next week, first one ever, should I hold

off taking this pill until after my blood test?

Thanks Val
