I don't quite understand what they are, but they're not active alcohol. It sounds like you found out the hard way that eating too much artificial sweetener gives you tummy problems. Guest guest
No reason to be sorry, Barb. Just trying to keep the various sweeteners straight in my little pea brain here. :-) Re: Sunday hello....... > Are you sure the sugar alcohols are in nutrasweet? Guest guest
Sheila, I didn't mean to sound confusing regarding the sugar alcohols. I react to all of them so far, especially sorbitol. Splenda seems fine in my system, but I don't use a lot of it at one time. Recently I was given some of the small " sugar-free " mints manufactured by Brown & Haley (the almond roca company) and I had a few during the course of the afternoon. My reaction that evening convinced me that sugar alcohols are not for me! Carol T In a message dated Sun, 5 Nov 2000 7:20:01 PM Eastern Standard Time, Sheila Clinton- writes: << Ohhhhh, Carol. Guest guest
It was my understanding that even though not strictly sugar these do increase insulin levels. sharon Re: Sunday hello....... > >Are those bars really sweetened with alcohol?????? Guest guest
Thanks for your reassurance, Barb. I have felt lousy since Saturday night. No energy at all. Feel as if I have a hang over!! So, something, or things, I ate, were not good for me. I still haven't watched my video of instructions about use of my monitor! I am not sure I will understand it if I watch it when I am feeling this way. I will give it a try tho, and see if any of it makes sense to me. Thanks, again, for letting me know I don't have to be concerned about alcohol in those chocolate bars. I am not eating any more of them, until I can test my bg, tho. Guest guest
Thanks for your message, too, Carol T. I think I am beginning to get the idea, that each of us reacts differently, to different foods. I appreciate your imput. Sheila {:-D
