Guest guest
Hi to all. I truly appreciate all the kind words of support that I am only now finding. I just wanted all of you to know that my surgery went well. I am back at home now. I could have gone home yesterday, but they decided to have me stay one more day because I had not yet had any bowel action. I had some pain, but mainly just the " kick in the gut " type feeling that I have had others describe for their surgery. Regarding the nerve sparing aspects of the surgery, there was a " textbook " separation of the nerve on the right side of the prostate. Unfortunately, on the left side, my surgeon found a lot more tissue then previously expected, therefore he had to take a deeper cut in order to insure that he was able to get all the cancer. Even though he was able to save the left nerve, he believes that there may be some damage. Obviously, we will not know how this damage may impact my erectile functionality for some time. Again, thank you for the support, and best wishes to you, Ted G.
