Guest guest
My son has been dx with Mitochondrial Complex I (secondary deficiency). He has anesthesia to do an MRI. Any suggestions in order to prepare are body and subsequently clear his body. I met with the anesthesiologist today. I told him no Nitrous Oxide and no Propofol. I am worried because of the methylation pathways not working well. Thanks Thank You Lidia Marandola
Guest guest
Hi Lidia, They should use a different anathesia for someone with Mito. Have you spoken to the actual anethesiologist?? They should know what to give ( and more importantly! what not to give) and patient with confirmed Mito. Can you call the doctor's you've seen at the Cleveland Clinic and ask what it is? I have always given my son a B12 shot the day of and type of anethesia and he has done fine, but then his mito still function at about 50%. > > > > My son has been dx with Mitochondrial Complex I (secondary deficiency).
