Guest guest
- Congrats on na graduating to her 2nd band! Sounds like she's doing great. I truly hope insurance pulls through for you and pays for the bands. Our insurance premiums increase every year by a lot. Guest guest
, Thanks for sharing your AWESOME news on na! I can't wait to see her before and after pics. We also took measurements to see how she has progressed in DOC band #2. The measurements were somewhat difficult. We had to restrain her and make her made - ugh! She has grown 8 mm in this band (she grew 7mm between cast and fit in #1) LOL. Her cranial vault is now 3 mm!!! Yeah we are in the average population range!! She started at 11 mm and went to 7 mm in 1st band and now 3 mm! Her ear assymetry has improved from 9 mm to 7 mm (end of 1st band) to 5 mm!!! We are very excited. Our poor orthotist probably doesn't think I'm excited - I'm somewhat reserved at times. na is going to continue to wear the band for 4-6 more weeks. We are hoping to get her ears to 3 mm. At this point the ortho said if she didn't improve anymore she is still on the outer edges of the general population and should have lessened risk for developing plagio related ailments. The ortho said they tend to use Aetna and Progressive Insurance's guidelines of less than 6mm no band. So at this point if we were to walk in today they would not band her. This is so reassuring knowing were were able to get her back into the normal range. As for the tort, there is still a tiny bit of tilt but no range of motion issues. She was turning her head every which way to avoid being measured - LOL!! > > > > PS I did a new paint job on her band and I hope to post pics tomorrow. Guest guest
Sounds like you are making good progress. Have you tried the neck stretches in front of a mirror. I am not sure how your stretches go - but Aidan would get a kick out of laying in front of the mirror and I would put my cheek to his while we did the stretches and blow him kisses or make random silly noises. It took his mind off of the exercises and he really liked it. Keep up the good rounding! Deb na update Hi All, na had an adjustment today. She did grow a little. In all she has grown 1 cm since she got this band. So, depending on how much she grows in the next two weeks she may be a graduate. There is very little room left in her band so she either has 2 weeks or 4 weeks left. We're still hoping the ears move a little. We're supposed to try all we can to get her neck stretches done. She can't stand them. It's almost impossible to do them at this point. Any advice would be great. I should post this to the tort board. I think we've tried everything. OT: She learned how to push herself to a sit and crawl last week. In addition, she has gotten her first 2 teeth in the past week. mom to na DOC #1 10-27 to 11-26 DOC #2 12-10 to (any day now!) Guest guest
Hi , Those darn neck stretches!!!!!!!! I have some ideas to help with distraction. 1. a mirror. My son will let me do almost anything if he can see himself. 2. bubbles 3. a good video. Aidan likes the Baby Einstein puppet shows. 4. Kiss her neck as you stretch her, make " zerberts " in her neck as you stretch her. I also tickle Aidan's face with my hair as I stretch him. Crawling, and sitting in the same week? Aidan did the same thing! How old is na? Furniture cruising will come along quickly as well,a nd then life gets crazy! How did the teeth come in? Aidan's first 2 teeth were a royal nightmare for us. Hope things have been easier for you all! Good luck with the stretches!!! --- In Plagiocephaly , " Filyaw " <filyaw@b...> wrote: > Hi All, > na had an adjustment today. She did grow a little. Guest guest
Dustie, She's not getting another band We're just hoping to get a little more ear correction before she grows out of this one. On Jan 23 she measured 3 mm cranial vault and 5 mm ear. We could really take it off now and maybe we should because I've gotten 2 speeding tickets in the last 5 weeks going to and from appointments.
