Any other comments on visual irregularities is welcome. *** This is my worst symptom, my neurologist and my neuro-ophtalmologist do think that ACM is the cause. I have severe downbeat nystagmus & blurry vision all the time, even with my glasses, can't focus, tracking is difficult, and if i move my head it's worst. I always have to look straight ahead. I also have double vision if i look on the side. Nightvision is really bad. My eyes symptoms started in Jan.97. I had my surgery 1½ year ago, the problem is still there. Guest guest
1. NO Although on occasion if it is very sunny out and I am looking toward the sun, I get dizzy. 2. No 3. At the end of the day I have a hard time looking down. 4. I almost always tear when I yawn. I thought it was normal. At least it is for me. There are times that I have to blow my nose. I too sometimes wonder if this is CSF or not because I will wake up in the morning and I will have liquid (not wax) coming out of my ears and I blow my nose every morning. 5. I see spots moving around frim time to time but that's about it. Hope this was of some help.

I pretty much just prefer to wear sunglasses to avoid the glare, but there have been times when I've walked outside into bright sunlight and felt sharp pain in my eyes. 2. Yes, it bothers me alot. There was one night when my monitor was really acting up, it made me extremely sick. > > 6. Any other comments on visual irregularities is welcome. I have a gray spot in the vision of my right eye. When reading print sometimes I can feel my head shaking as I read. When following something like the mercury going down in a sphygmomanometer, my head shakes also. I don't know if this is noticeable to other people, but I can feel it. Guest guest
1. I have definite light sensitiity. Example when i'm in a room with a chaandelier, it makes my eyes hurt and gives me a headache, it's impossible to outside when it snows and it's a sunny day...the glare is intolerable. 2. Bright light inside does bother me (chandelier example above). Regarding the uneven pupils (anisocoria), neither neurologists or opthalmologists can explain why i have it, they admit it's there (my right pupil gets really big when my left stays normal) I even had an MRI done especially because of the anisocoria. 3. Any direction is difficult for me because i have nystagmus (PAN-periodic alternating nystagmus). I've had nystagmus since i was about 3. 4. I do not have hypersecretion has you described it, but i do have discharge in my eyes all the time...(sorry this'll sound disgusting but--it's a mucus like white blob that is in my eyes) 5. Flickering is a way of life for me with nystagmus...wouldn't know if it bothered me since i've never seen any differently. But yes, i have visual impairment that i'd like to lose. 6. My eyes are green, I have a small degree of albinism in my eyes (which decreases my depth-percetion), born with strabismus (cross-eyes)which was corrected via surgery and i experience wierd wavy-colored-bands-of light (ACM related, i'm told). Guest guest
More eye stuff- I found out after visiting the local science center this weekend that I have limited periferal vision in my right eye. The reason he went to Mayo to try to get a DG was because he could tell his perifial vision was gone. He was only able to see things looking straight on. They made him some glasses that had prisms in the lenses and he can now see ok as long as he wears them. It was really a problem for him to drive. He also said that it was something that would come and go with him. At times he can see perfectly withput the glasses.
