Guest guest
I had posted that I thought my son's ear looks worse after 3 weeks in the DOC band (he's 9 mo.) I did get to see our headsicle today (ha ha! that is a good one - I heard it here today for the first time!) It was hard to tell the actual ear position from the plaster head. The clinician showed me a sample skull and I see there is a rounded piece of bone/skull that goes right over each ear. I feel like the rest of the head is getting shaped and that part is sticking out. She did acknowledge that it looks a little different but says that it should even out once the banding is done. I really pray she knows what she's talking about. I have this awful feeling he'll wind up with one ear that pokes out. I'll see how it looks in 2 more weeks. If it gets worse, I'm not sure what I'll do. As far as the headsicle, I brought it home to show all the relatives who thought I was a nutcase for banding. It really shows off the flatness. I'm sure they'll just say " Oh, everyone has a flat head! " Hmmmm.... maybe I'll try casting all of them just to see!
