A few questions...

I started the Turtle menus today.

I have a few questions about them.

Can i drink my diet rite as often as i want, as long as i get the 16 oz.

of water in at the 6 times of day?

My sunflower seeds say 5 carbs per oz. shelled... Is this correct?

Can i have bacon with my eggs each time? or is there a reason to leave it

off ?

I remember someone saying that the meat portion should be the size of a

deck of cards...Is that per. oz. or what?? In other words is the size of

a deck of cards equal to 2,4,6, oz. or what?

Can i change the pork rinds with cream cheese to just cream cheese with a

little splenda added into it? I don't use AS in my coffee... So i don't

think it would put me over the limit?

Can i change the Creamed Beef to a hamburger patty?

And have either seeds or string cheese instead of the pork rinds and

pimiento cheese?

I know it is a lot of questions... But i really don't want to mess up.

Carol,

As long as you drink all the water, you can have the Diet Rite, but don't

overdo on it. Try to replace some of that Diet Rite with even more water.

One of the points of the Turtle menues is to try and break us from our

dependency on sweet tastes.

Sunflower seeds do have about 5 grams of carbs per ounce shelled.

You can have bacon with your eggs if you want, and if you don't think the

extra salt will cause you fluid retention problems. If you do choose to eat

bacon, you probably want to add even more water to your day's intake.

A deck of cards is roughly the size of 3 ounces of meat. So 2 decks of

cards would represent 6 ounces of meat.

I don't recommend sweetening the cream cheese. Again, we want to try and

reduce our dependency upon sweet tastes. Try to stick to the jello and

whipped cream for your sweet treat. Also, Splenda does contain 1/2 gram of

carb per teaspoon, so those will add up more quickly than you think.

Feel free to substitute a hamburger patty for the creamed beef.

You can substitute sunflower seed or string cheese for the pork rinds or the

pimiento cheese, but go lightly on the seeds, since 1 ounces does have 5

grams of carb.

Terry,

Thank you for responding so quickly...

I will run get some string cheese, You saved me from doing the cream

cheese and splenda for my mid-day snack today.

I got a late start on my day, so i have just now had my mid-morning

snack.

I have gotten my water down so far... That is an accomplishment in

itself, since i am the #1 water hater.

I forgot how stuffed i was when i first started induction...

I realize that as time went on i cut my eating down to almost nothing,

no wonder i have stopped losing.

Now if i can only get my stuffed self up, i will go buy the string cheese

and sf jell o... But i think that i will do without the whipped cream, I

don't care for it much.

I also gave my Diet Rite to the next door neighbor...

3 six packs was just to much temptation.
