Guest guest
I have dialup too, and it's a bit slow, I mostly read emails and look up info online. Videos and audios are just " something I don't do " . However, a computer shop here in town, thru an arrangement with the local cable TV company, is now offering broadband without TV for considerably less than the cost of broadband with TV (which was the only way you could get it from the TV company). In a few months I'll probably go for it. If you live in a remote rural location satellite may be the only way to get a faster connection. But if you live in a city or town you can probaby get DSL from your phone company, broadband from your cable TV company, or either or both from you internet service provider. Yahoo is offering DSL in certain locations (mostly big cities) as well. DSL is better than dialup, but not much better when a lot of people are online at the same time. Broadband is lots better than DSL, but a bit more expensive especially if you have to get TV with it (unless you were planning to get cable TV anyway.) Either is cheaper than satellite. I just told my brother about Asperger's syndrome, and sent him a few links. My father has some Aspie traits, also my nephew (the son of my brother who I just sent the info to). My nephew is having a very hard time in school, and talking about Aspies in my family has become the elephant in the living room. I hope the communication gets thru and my nephew gets some accomodations and understanding rather than just being called a sissy and weird and ordered to " straighten up " like he's getting now. I hope! Later -- Joni --------------------------------- --------------------------------- Need a quick answer? Get one in minutes from people who know. Ask your question on Yahoo! Answers.
