Guest guest
Hi, I hope someone will tell me where to look for cleaning the band to conquer the smell. My neighbor's grandson (9 months old) has a Hanger band and it is beginning to smell like " old tennis shoes " - and I was trying to find suggestions for cleaning and haven't found a link. I am happy to report that he had an adjustment and there have been no more red sports. Also, he had seen some correction in 3 weeks - so they are thrilled. He looks adorable in his band, but they have gotten some staring and remarks. Also, my daughter who is doing repo says that my grand daughter's head is showing more improvement. She is 7 months old, and is hardly ever on her back any more. She is also adjusting to tummy time better - after 7 months - it has been a battle as she hated it!! So, if your child hates tummy time - keep at it, eventually they will adjust. Would appreciate any help on the cleaning the smell. Guest guest
Amber, na has a DOC band. We clean it with 90% alcohol only. I use a washcloth with a liberal amount of alcohol and rub it down. Some folks do it 3 times a day, especially if it's getting smelly. Also, I give na a bath every day and wash her hair. I leave the shampoo in while she plays and gets the rest of her bath. I'm so happy to hear your neighbor and granddaughter are seeing improvement. Guest guest
Hi, Glad to hear that both babies are seeing some rounding! As far as the smell, I used the 90% alcohol 2 or 3 times a day by scrubbing hard with a facecloth. I shampooed her in the morning and did a " baby wipe shampoo " the other time or times. I used either a fan or the sun to speed the drying so she'd still only be out an hour total for the day. , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma > Hi, I hope someone will tell me where to look for cleaning the band > to conquer the smell.
