Guest guest
My boys are patients of Dr. K too - they did great on Entocort and Pentasa, we started LDN to time it's ramp up to be full dose when the Entocort was faded out. Our DAN! was the one to prescribe the LDN, not Krigsman though he wasn't opposed to it he's not convinced about it either I might have talked him into a script but I didn't feel like it since I knew one call back to our DAN! would get it done. It's been a few weeks w 3.5mg cream LDN and no entocort (they've continued on Pentasa) and so far so good, both boys are stable and doing well... I suggest logging on to the Autism_LDN yahoo group and getting more information about it... LDN doesn't bring any disease into remission, it prevents it's progression, so you use the other drugs to get the remission happening and then the LDN keeps it there... Dr. K said if we had any regression we'd have to go back on the Entocort, I'm hoping that doesn't have to happen but you never know, it's been 3 weeks for us so far. I have another friend who's kid isn't on LDN and as soon as they stopped the Entocort GI symptoms came flooding back. near LAX > I have heard that many kiddos do great while on Entocort but once it is > removed all of the > symptoms and problems come back (sometimes worse than before). Guest guest
We have been on Colazal for years with some pretty good reduction in inflammation symptoms, but the inflammation is still there. So, we will be switching to Pentasa. I believe they are both in the same 5-ASA family of anti-inflammatory drugs. Can anyone explain the primary differences in how Colazal, Pentasa, and Entocort work? We are trying to understand why one might be better than the others. L From: csb-autism-rx [mailto:csb-autism-rx ] On Behalf Of Dayna Sable Sent: Tuesday, October 28, 2008 10:04 PM To: csb-autism-rx Subject: Entocort I have heard that many kiddos do great while on Entocort but once it is removed all of the symptoms and problems come back (sometimes worse than before). Has anyone had success with Entocort without regressing when it is eventually removed? We have been on Pentasa for a year and still have unformed stools (great color and odor and texture but not formed). Dr. K has suggested Entocort and I am not a big fan of steroids so I am sitting on the script. I would love to hear from parents who saw great results even after Entocort was removed. Are any of you out there? Peace, Dayna
