Guest guest
You have PLS. That's why, says I.!!! Somebody? Anybody? Who wants to take a stab at answering this question? Why does my leg only get spastic, jerky, jumpy, crazy about five minutes before I am ready for bed. And then do that for the next hour or so. And why does it only do it periodically? Every two or three weeks I get three or four nights of it. So far this week I have slept less than Galen eats. Go ahead. Figure that one out. Guest guest
Ronnie, There is no way I'm going to touch on that one. Jeanne Ann can have all the fun, or you can let "Bubba" have it. It is just too delicious to pass up. By the way, my personal email address should come at the top of each message I send out. Guest guest
The way I space my meds (last Baclofen at 3PM), I am at the lowest amount in my bloodstream in the evening. Sometimes my leg quakes in the evening 8-9PM. I figure its the low dosage. I take more meds at 10, but still have quaking at night (2-4 AM), sometimes. Alan Somebody? Anybody? Guest guest
My two cents worth--I tried Baclofen and Zanaflex several years ago and discontinued both because they caused me to be very weak. Now I am so spastic that I'm giving Zanaflex another try. My MD suggested that I try a small dose and work up to higher levels if I needed to and to take it at bedtime to alleviate the daytime weakness. I've taken 2 mg for the past couple of nights with no more weakness than usual, but may need to up my dosage as I have not conquered the exacerbation in spasticity. My most bothersome is my right forearm and fingers on my right hand. This whole thing is such a guessing game--nothing works the same for everyone. Dolores Somebody? Anybody? Guest guest
Laurel, I'm so sorry. I just know you heard me laughing. In fact, I still am. And I really am sorry, giggle, giggle, snort. Really. Just what I needed after a hard, long day at work. A good laugh. You know, come to think of it, I had some of that "knees snapping back stuff", too. Early on, but it hardly ever happens anymore. Now about that wobble....oh, crap. I'm still laughing. Maybe I have entered that emotional lability stage....for some reason this snap, crackle and pop, or step, snap, wobble really tickled my funny bone. And it's not funny at all. Especially when you feel that at any step you could end up kissing the floor. I guess as long as it is cute..... You know, with all this leg stuff going on, I was thinking, it sure would be nice if we could describe each incident in a way that made it clear we are all talking about the same thing. I know I get confused. And I'm sure that my descriptions sometimes confuse others. I mean, here I am telling you to take Inosine for your creepy, crawly legs and then I turn around and ask what to do for my leg? I know I am talking about two different things but it may be confusing to others. Well, what about PLS is NOT confusing? I'm not laughing any more. I'm gonna wobble off to the kitchen and get me some eats. Ronnie Somebody? Anybody? Who wants to take a stab at answering this question? Guest guest
That's what I was thinking too, Jagan & Ronnie. My legs have been doing all kinds of things lately. My knees have snapped back with each step since my sx first started about 2 1/2 - 3 yrs. ago, but now the last few days, they kind of wobble right after they snap. So, my gait kind of goes like this: Step..........Snap...........Wobble Repeat You should see it, it's real cute. Laurel Somebody? Anybody? Who wants to take a stab at answering this question? Guest guest
Ronnie: That 's okay, dear, you just go ahead and giggle, snort, giggle, hoot, giggle and laugh. I kinda thought that some of the gang may get a kick outa my description. It is funny. I haven't kissed the floor yet, but the other day I was taking the stairs down a couple flights to the next floor. I did a little hug & a kiss with the railing as I gracefully slid around the curve to the next flight. That was fun too. You can giggle and laugh and snort at my expense any time. I like to make people laugh. Love yuah, Laurel Somebody? Anybody? Who wants to take a stab at answering this question?
