Welcome to the board. Diagnosing plagio is the first step, but I

must worn you that the learning curve is steep. My daughter and I

have learned the hard way. Does your baby have just a flat spot or

is she starting to show a wider than normal head (brachy)? If brachy

is not involved, the band/helmet can correct the flatness very well.

If brachy is involved, the correction may not be what you expect.

The DOC band is very light and does not create problems at tummy

time. My child, who started wearing it at 6.5 months, had some

trouble sleeping and overall wearing it the first week, which

apparently is unsuaul, as they say babies tend to adapt easily.

However, after the first week, she had no problems, especially

because she was wearing it 23 hours a day and forgot life without

it. The possibility of a corrected head shape to worsen after the

band is there. However, with some attention to avoid extended

periods on her back, your baby should not develop a new flat spot.

But you can't let the guard down. I think back sleeping, swings,

bouncy seats and long car rides must be kept to a minimum afterward,

and that's what you are going to do. Good luck!

Hello and welcome to the group.

Wow to your ped being on the ball. Glad to hear there are some of

them out there. :o)

Willow my daughter never had a problem with the weight of her band

or sleeping. She was 6months when she got banded. Let us know what

the specialist sais. Oh, and I was told by our doc that reflatting

is really a very rare thing.
