Guest guest
, Does he have any really red spots? Perhaps the helmet needs an adjustment? was 5 mos old when she got her DOCband, and we never really had any issues (other than some red spots that we needed adjustments on). The problem many of have faced though (myself included) is that many of our little ones begin teething while adjusting to the band - just more crankiness to add to the mix. Hang in there!! Guest guest
Hi , I would definitely talk to your orthotist. They should be able to check the fit and see if any adjustments are necessary which may help make Aj more comfortable. And Kerri brings up a good point with teething....Check for any new teeth as this can definitely cause some discomfort and sleepless nights. /DOC/10-7-03 @10mos./PA shannon152000 <wolfekm@...> wrote: ,Does he have any really red spots? Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group. I'm so sorry to hear that AJ isn't adjusting so well. It could be b/c his band needs to be adjusted, that is very common in the beginning of treatment. Is his band leaving any red marks that don't fade within the hour off? Can you post pics of AJ in his band? --- In Plagiocephaly , " cprete26 " <cprete26@a...> wrote: > Hello all, > > My 6 month old son got the starband helmet on Thursday and I had my > first breakdown today. Perhaps the helmet needs an adjustment? No, it actually fits well. He seems a little better today. I guess it's a process. Thanks for your support. Guest guest
Hi , I am sorry to hear that your son does not seem to be adjusting to his STARband quickly. Most babies do adjust very quickly. Does the band seem to fit OK? I have heard here that most adjustment to the band issues are resolved with an adjustment to the band. Has your son had any red spots, or any odd shifting of the band? I would also call your orthotist on Monday morning with your concerns about AJ's fussiness. My son was banded at 7 months, and the only time it really " bothered " him was when I was struggling to put it on. I think I grew 10 thumbs that first week. Please keep us posted on AG's progress, and feel free to ask as many questions as you need! - mom to Aidan STARband 08/26/03 12/19/03 GR Mi --- In Plagiocephaly , " cprete26 " <cprete26@a...> wrote: > Hello all, > > My 6 month old son got the starband helmet on Thursday and I had my > first breakdown today.
