Guest guest
Kelli, I used plastic paint the first time - I don't recommend it. It peeled off very easily. I used regular acrylic the second time (but it was over a top secret primer from my father-in-law). However, that being said, I used a much "higher" quality brush ($3 vs $0.59) and it went on smoother too. So, I think it would do OK on it's own. Re: Kelli, as far as decorating alot of other people use stickers we had a guy that was a tatoo artist draw and paint the helmet we are Jeff Gordan Nascar fans it had race flags, flames, and a big #24. Use your imagination I'm sure it will look great. Some others will chime in with other ideas. (DOCband grads mom)kelli mitchetti <kmitchetti@...> wrote: Hi everyone! Guest guest
Is there a file for decorating tips for bands? I could have sworn I saw one? If not... any basics on what to use to clear coat it, etc? TIA! Ali
Guest guest
Ali, You've probably already been to the only link I know about: Plagiocephaly.org's helmet/band decoration tips http://www.plagiocephaly.org/support/decorate.htm Decorating your baby's new band or helmet can help reduce tension both for you and your family, and for others in public You may need some in-depth advice; I hope others will post! Guest guest
Hi Ali- A friend and I just decorated Ian's band lastnight. I was really nervous to put the first bit of paint on, so I had my friend do it :) Anyway, I used blue acrylic paint for the background. And a clearcoat varnish for the top. Try to find something that doesn't smell real strong and that is non-toxic :) The only bad thing is I put some stickers too close to the edge and once they peel off they take the paint with it (Ian's mom, 6 months, DOC band 1/10) > Is there a file for decorating tips for bands? Guest guest
Hi , Did you happen to check out 's document in the FILES/decorating tips folder? It may have some more specific info that might help you. I did pine away somewhat for a helmet or band for Remy in that I would have loved all the decorating so much! Would you post a picture of with his decorated DOCband when you get everything situated? I'd love to see it.
