what part of the UK are you in? I'm surprised to hear that Autism is still

thought of that way where you are. Have you read anything by Tony Attwood?

Do you have a local Autism Society chapter that you can contact??? We get

a lot of info from the UK in FEAT Newsletters etc., so that's why I ask

where you're from...

Autistic kids can be naughty but most likely the behaviors being

referred to are directly due to the child's disability and are not

planned or rebellious behaviors. Very very ignorant on their part.

Sounds like the US eons ago. No, the parents didn't cause the

behaviors or the autism, and the parents are not neurotic. Not to

say that having an autistic or other special needs child doesn't

place alot of strain on a family, but a child is not autistic because

of! What a load of hooey!

I'm glad for her that you are able to comfort her. It is so helpful

to have someone who understands. You're a good friend .
