Guest guest
What is tactile defensive? Re: echolalia I think so. I am not always certain. I know I have never introduced myself as " Jim " before, repeating what someone said! I also have a bunch of tics that I never had before. I don't know that I ever had any tics other than one where I shrug my shoulder a bit. Now I have several that just kind of happen whenever. I do a bunch of repetitive motions I did not do before (in addition to the ones I already did). I think I talk in a more hesitant fashion. like. I. stop. after. every/ word. sometimes. I think I spend a lot more time looking at things like cracks in the floor or pixels on the computer, although I have always spent a lot of time doing that so maybe am just more aware of doing so. My mother noticed some of the repetitive motions because she teased me about them. So they must be new to her, too. I don't really mind my idiosyncracies. ... except the ones where I forget to do something, or get lost in traffic, or can't get myself to do something like send an invoice after I have done a job (I have one invoice I have not sent for 3 weeks because it just seems like " the time is not right " to sit down and write something that might take me ten minutes to do. Argh! Also, I am much more tactile defensive than in the past.
