well, penny dear, besides the first 3 months that ian (my ex) was here 3 years

ago, i have not had sexual relations WITH ANOTHER PERSON for 8 years!!!

But, , didn't you know that you can have sex THROUGHOUT your pregnancy?

Once you're pregnant, you can't exactly get pregnanter (and please no one

reply to me about odd Guiness Records type of pregnancies!) And I don't have

a return of fertility for fourteen months to two years when I am nursing a

baby (which I have been for almost fifteen years).

I hated having sex while I was 'that' pregnant... Everyone told me how great it

was supposed to be but I just hated it.

We had great sex when I was pregnant... Not that we don't now but there was

something about sex and pregnancy...

What the Guiness Records pregnancies or the fertility thing? The latter is

NOT an old wives tale, but many people do not have sufficient fertility

awareness to know when their fertility returns. I taught natural family

planning for thirteen years and used the method for sixteen. Once I was

teaching a session on lactation amenorrhea (which is the infertility that

derives from breastfeeding) at the La Leche League Conference for New York

State East. had been born two years before but I recognized, due

to my fertility signs that my cycles would return during the three day

conference. So I went out and bought all my supplies (which I had not used

for nearly three years) and took them along. Sure enough, last day of the

conference it returned. I have been able to do this with all of my

children. I have never been even slightly surprised by a pregnancy; in

fact, I have never needed to use a pregnancy test because, since I have a

short luteal phase, I always know that I am pregnant on the thirteenth day

after conception.

I stand corrected. I just remember reading in multiple places before my

kids were born and I was planning to breast feed, that if you were nursing,

you were not guaranteed to be safe just because you weren't having the

obvious signs of a period. Needless to say, I took precautions with both

boys.
