It sounds liek either you did nto go high enough or your low cortiols

prevented it from getting ot the cells. I had to go all the way to

250mcg to break through the barrier and clear out RT3. SRT3 for me was

like taking sugar pills. I could not feel it at all but I never went

higher than 200mcg a day with it. Cytomel works just fine if you

multidose it to avoid the ups and downs. It also takes quite some time

on it to clear out the receptors 12 weks for most.

Val,I'm going to have fight like hell w/my doctor to switch to Cytomel as I'm sure he'll say I'm not on a high enough dose of ST3. But let me ask this...if I've noticed increases in basal temps when ramping up on ST3 would that indicate it's working? Also, if I do switch to Cytomel, how do you transition say from 37.5 ST3 twice a day to Cytomel dosing? It sounds liek either you did nto go high enough or your low cortiols prevented it from getting ot the cells. If your basal tmepos are rising I would say it is working. But to switch

I would get 5mcg tablets and dose 10mcg four times a day. I try to keep

my dosing pretty even through the day and take any extra either first

thing in the AM or at bedtime.

Val—Here is my long-term basal temp picture:Wide fluctuations as I ramped up in June with not enough adrenal support perhaps: from 97.2 to 97.9. (Prior to starting ST3, my temps fluctuated less on Armour but around 97.6 for the week I graphed them while waiting for the ST3 to show up.) Then they went to 97.7 to 98 when I got to 37.5 ST3 twice a day. Next I dropped 5 HC for OD symptoms and basal temps rose to 98.2 for a week with one day at 98.4. Dropped another 2.5 HC and temps stabilized at 98 for a week more or less. Then the vacation crash where they bounced all over--lower as I added back the 7.5 HC and stress dosed--now they've stabilized last three days at 97.8.What do you think? I'm thinking my doc's going to want to raise my ST3 when I see him. My daily avged temps are high at 98.7, 98.8 the last four days and 98.4, 98.5 the four days prior to that (coming back from the crash). I'm wondering if I can eventually drop the HC dose a little if my thyroid temps will come up and the ST3 is working. I'm afraid to either raise T3 or cut HC right now as I still feel so crashed...Words of advice? Stick w/the ST3?ChrisBut to switch I would get 5mcg tablets and dose 10mcg four times a day. I try to keep my dosing pretty even through the day and take any extra either first thing in the AM or at bedtime.

Thanks so much for your opinion on the SRT3. My BP is not rising reliably...never really has. I did have two days where it did right before I left for vacation, but today for example systolic fell 10 points both times I took it before a dose was due and rose or stayed the same when an HC dose was working. Yesterday though it rose 15 points twice (total anomaly) and stayed the same once.Doesn't seem like I should lower HC when I'm this weak still though to hardly walk around the house or upstairs? With temps stable and IF BP is rising when taken sitting then standing I would try lowering the HC again. Yes it seems your SRT3 is working OK for you.--                       Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV                          http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/               http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/                    http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/------------------------------------

Well, this is really interesting Val. I'm conflicted. I am high cortisol and

basal temps went

higher when I reduced HC pre-vacation. And I felt fine the first two weeks of

the

reduction. Then the vacation stress crashed me and/or maybe I couldn't go that

low on HC

yet and it took a few weeks to catch up to me?

However, I'm back to feeling like I need every HC dose with periods where my BP

goes low,

low in between, so I'm a bit hesitant to cut it right now. Although on the flip

side, I think

my BP was rising reliably AFTER I cut out he 5 or 7.5 HC so maybe I hit a sweet

spot

balancing the thyroid and HC?

After yesterday's doom and gloom, I did manage a 5 minute walk which gave me

more

energy (It's the weirdest thing...a walk almost always takes away the extreme

leg

weakness unless I'm totally crashed.) I'm hoping I'm starting to come out of

this! Maybe I

will wait one or two days and then take out 2.5? Gosh, so couldn't bear to crash

again for

weeks though.

Val,

Could you expand on what you mean by unbalancing the electroylytes?
