We all have horror stories :) When I still worked in-house, we had an MT come

in to help out for a few days and she had typed " second story endometrium "

We all got quite a laugh out of that believe me. BTW, it was supposed to be

" secretory endometrium " . My personal booboo when I was very new to MT was

baloney amputation .. gosh I was soooo embarrassed. The doctor was real nice

when he explained it was below-knee amputation. Geez.. I felt soooo dumb :)

Hehehe, speaking of dumb questions I've asked in my lifetime as an

MT: When I started out transcribing, I had no training. I got hired and

basically had to learn as I went. I got stumped the first time I had a doc

say CABG (he pronounced it as cabbage). Well, gosh, I had never heard of

cabbage being used for treatment in a cardiac patient, but hey, medical

breakthroughs are happening all the time, right?? Of course, I questioned

it and got a bit of a laugh out of it. Needless to say, I felt a little

embarrassed!
