That's so cute, Shirley. Thanks for passing it on.

Here's one for you:

Two avid fishermen go on a fishing trip. They rent all

the equipment: the reels, the rods, the wading suits,

the rowboat, the car, and even a cabin in the woods.

They spend a fortune.

The first day they go fishing, but they don't catch

anything. The same thing happens on the second day,

and on the third day. It goes on like this until

finally, on the last day of their vacation, one of the

men catches a fish.

As they're driving home they're really depressed. One

guy turns to the other and says, " Do you realize that

this one lousy fish we caught cost us fifteen hundred

dollars? "

The other guy says, " Wow! It's a good thing we didn't

catch any more! "

I think humor is important in daily life and my sister

is living proof. She had a mastectomy and for her

mammogram a year later, the technician got done with

the compressions on her breast she still had when the

tech asked for the other one, my sister just chuckled

and said " Honey, if you can find it, you can squosh

it " .

But, my sister returned to work after her mastectomy

in less time than most women do. I don't remember the

exact numbers. She credits keeping her sense of humor

intact.

1st groaner of the year

I have to start you all out in this new year with a laugh or a chuckle or an UGGH...lol Shirley

Jimmy: 'Hey, Mike! How's your new pet fish doing? You told me he was really something special.' Mike: 'To tell the truth, I'm really disappointed in him. The guy who sold him to me said I could teach him to sing like a bird.' Jimmy: 'What? Let me get this straight... You bought a fish because you thought you could teach him to sing like a bird?' Mike: 'Well, yeah. After all, you know, he's a parrot fish.' Jimmy: 'Now listen, Mike, while you might be able to teach a parrot to sing, you're never going to get anywhere with a parrot fish.' Mike: 'That's what you think! It just so happens this fish CAN sing. The thing is, he's terribly off-key and it's driving me crazy. Do you know how hard it is to tuna fish?

Thanks so much to both of you for making me smile. I have had a

rough day today. I am struggling with extreeme fatigue. I have

been unable to do any of the things I used to do, am most bound to

the bed or recliner chair and feel a little stir crazy. I has been

a rough 6 weeks.

Mostly I have been able to be very positive and thankful for my

family and friends. I hope I find the strength to be patient and

let my body heal.

I am encouraged by the group members optimism.

Thanks for listening!

Hi Kim I have been very lucky and never have had fatigue with my MS. I don't have any balance so I use a walker all the time. I have my truck modified with a hand control and keep my wheelchair in the extended section of my truck for when I go to the store. I haven't been able to walk normal since my MS hit me in Aug of 99. I think sometimes I would trade having fatigue trouble for just being able to walk around the block with my family. I can't even climb a ladder when I need to change a simple high lightbulb. I probably should watch what I wish for.

Here is a few photo's of my truck and my hand control I use to drive with.

oh Kim~I sure can relate to that fatigue thing! It really stinks! My kids (4 at home, 1 at college) complain--Mom, you're always tired! Have you been on or tried Provigil yet? I am on 200 mgs and take it first thing in the am, but lately I haven't been really feeling many benefits from it. The hardest thing is to try and push myself to get some form of exercise, but when I do, sometimes it picks me up for a bit--like it gets my engine revving, so I can at least put the crock pot on with dinner for later or sweep a floor or 2, then I crash! We are here to encourage you, and I hope we can help get you through this very difficult time. blessings and hugs to you, kate Re: 1st groaner of the yearTo: MSersLife > Thanks so much to both of you for making me smile.
