Guest guest
This from Dr. Cannell: " Jaquelyn: I would stop all calcium supplements until 25(OH)D levels are > 70 ng/ml. Drink calcium fortified juice and eat yoghurt if they can't/won't drink milk. Do not worry about calcium blood levels and do not check them until 25(OH)D levels are >70 ng/ml; then check a serum calcium. I am home today, give me a call. " I'll report any further info on this after I speak to him. I'm not sure what to do about our daughter, autism, and Vitamin D. She has calcium/magnesium/ phosphate crystals in her urine which causes kidney problems. I've had her calcium levels checked but not Vitamin D. I want to do that but I don't know if I want to up the intake if it increases her calcium in the urine? I'm not sure what I just said but I think I'm concerned about the same things you are. However, I believe Vitamin D is so important for autism. The doctor said it quite low and prescribed 50,000 IU to be taken once weekly. This seems likes an awful lot but I suppose 18 isn't good, either. > Shari > >
