Guest guest
Sully has an extremely hard time if he doesn't win. We are not allowed to call anyone the winner lest we desire the wrath of Sully. CHRIS Odd thing Ok, one thing before I go.. We had an odd thing tonight, we were playing the Monsters Inc game of life, cute game, Mitchel was 'playing' too. But this time he was sticking with it. Now we had to 'do' everything for him, but I made him count his money when paying, and count his squares when mving, although I don't think he got the concept of much. He threw an absolute fit when he found out he didn't win. SCREAMING.. I " M NOT A LOSER.. YOU A LOSER, DADDY A LOSER EMILY A LOSER, I'M A WINNER. I'M NOT A LOSER. It was so sad. I felt so bad for him...I guess It's back to telling him he's won even when he hasn't??? Kerri
Guest guest
Kerri, we TRY to encourage Jacqui to understand that it doesn't matter who wins or loses, that having fun is the most important thing. Now, this IS difficult when NT kids throw a fit due to losing, or they cheat, OR you have an ultra-competitive husband. Good Luck with this one... Guest guest
I think objecting to losing is pretty NT. , not Enrique, had trouble with this. He still does. Enrique did not mind losing so he could play board games very early. Salli
Guest guest
That's a tough one, cause you don't want to re enforce his feeling that he has to win every game he plays. After all, the kids in school or whatever that he plays with certainly are not going to. Yet, you don't want to ruin his self esteem. Would he understand if you tried to explain to him that you can't win games all the time and that you are not a loser just cause you didn't win? Is he getting the loser idea from school?
