Re: expiration dates. A friend of mine is a nurse who volunteers for the medical flights of mercy to Central American countries. She goes with a team of doctors and nurses who bring medicine to treat common conditions that go untreated there. She said they take donations of expired medicine with them. She said the "expiration date" is a date that is waaaay before the efficiency of the medication actually is affected. She told me the drug companies do it that way to prevent lawsuits over outdated medication. She says medication is good for years after the expiration date--I just can't remember exactly what she said. Sharon If the government is big enough to give you everything you want, it is big enough to take away everything you have. - Gerald Ford Re: my copaxone shot Shirley, My first injection of Copaxone felt like a constant bee-sting for about 3 hours.. I put the 3 hours down to being stupid and injecting the back of my leg instead of the front, therefore pressure the whole time I sat on it.. .. I called Shared Solutions the next day, and asked if there was anything that I could do to alleviate some of this.. The person I spoke with told me a warm compress for 5 minutes before injecting, and then icing for 2 minutes after injecting. Some of the people in the group, ice first, warm compress following.. whichever works is what

I'd say to use.. It does sting after first injecting, but it not really any worse than iodine on an open cut.. unfortunately, I can't reach around an blow on my butt... lol.. like I could iodine... We followed this procedure for at least a month, though I quit icing within a couple of days, unless the stinging kept up for longer than a few minutes... Of course I rubbed the injection site following the injection, which seemed to alleviate the stinging sensation but then read in the material supplied from Shared Solutions that we shouldn't rub the injection site until the next day.. so I try to avoid massaging if I can.. sometimes I still just gotta... I'm still of the opinion, that bee-sting or not, itching or not, redness, lumps, bumps and bruised feeling or not.. it's still way way way better than the flu for two days every week.. And I'm glad I stuck it out.. cause now at three months, well for

the last 4 injections, there is no redness, no huge welt like thing, no itching (cept a tiny bit on my right buttock today).. a little bruised feeling at the injection site, but only if I press on it with something... I can't tell you what to do, but I'm hoping that you will hang in there with the Copaxone and give it a chance to do it's thing.. I know I wish that I had started on it FIRST instead of the Avonex.. might not be as bad off as I am today, had I used it first.. but again, one never knows.. but I wouldn't have spent 4 years having the flu every week.. Now the expiration date on the Tylenol bottle.. I sort of look at those as a "guideline" LOL. I'm sorry, I'm strange.. Milk has to be taken off the shelf by a certain date, that doesn't mean you can't drink the milk after that date (it's actually supposed to stay good for at least 7 days following the expiration.. that can vary depending on

how long someone let it sit on a counter type thing).. though 's family tossed the milk out ON the expiration date.. I did finally break him of that habit.. LOL... When you pour the milk and it comes out in clumps or curdles in your coffee... then it's time to throw it away... None of my tongue in cheek meanderings are meant to make you feel anything more than a chuckle or two, so I have to apologize if my comments don't make you chuckle a bit, and instead make you feel worse.. That was not my intention in any of this.. or for that matter any of my emails Take Care |)onna Shirley wrote: > > It didn't go as well as I had hoped.
