I find revelations absolutely fascinating.... On the other side of you, I feel if I didn't have faith, there would be nothing to live for....all this would be for naught...I just can't believe that. I have tremendous respect for any belief...regardless.....my frame of mind is, whatever works.... This past year, I read the entire " Left Behind " series...though sophmoric in literature, the theme and plot kept me going. Ron
Guest guest
Please do not view what you see on these " Christian channels " as the last word in Christian faith. Personally, they disgust me by spewing intolerance of other cultures and faiths by trying to convert the world. They just have the biggest mouths. Pat on. Jerry Falwall. And that's all I am going to say about that. Sorry if I stepped over the line, Jacquie. Barb

Guest guest
I believe there is a huge difference between spirituality (part of you you are) and religion. If there were only one " true " religion then millions of other people would be wrong. That makes no sense to me. So I believe all are the same God. My husband is an atheists and I can't tell you how sad and hurt I am about that. He had a stroke the end of June and while he was in the emergency room I thought for sure he would die. I held his hand and begged him to pray with me but he wouldn't. So I guess he's going to hell.

Forgive me if another Canadian has answered this; I'm replying as soon as I got it. In Ontario, post-secondary education is 2-tiered. University is generally a 3 or 4 year study-based program, after which you gratuate with a BA or BS or whatever, after which you can go on to take your masters and then your phd. Doctors, lawyers, theologians, anthropologists, teachers, english majors, civil engineers, stock brokers, etc go to university. They can't get a job without a university education. College is a 2 or 3 year practice-based program that includes a lot of lab time, co-op work (unpaid experience in your field of study), etc. Nurses, cops, journalists, social workers, marketing and advertising people, stationary engineers, etc go to college. University and college are where they first separate the blue from the white collar workers. Jacquie

Guest guest
In the US a college only grants " undergraduate " degrees - a BA or BS while a university would also grant graduate degrees - Masters and Phds. So, Universities also have colleges. For example, I went to Mercer University where I got a BA in History in the College of Liberal Arts. Then I stayed there and got a Masters in Education at the School of Education, also part of the University. Some of my friends went to Georgia College for their undergraduate degree and then transfered to the University for their masters. I don't believe there are that many independent colleges anymore - most are part of a University setting. So it is really very confusing--if you say you went to college it should mean you have an undergraduate degree and if you say University it should mean you have a graduate degree; but most people go to a univeristy where they get a BA or BS from one of the colleges in the university and they will often just say I went to Mercer University and you won't know. I hope this helps! Guest guest
> > Nah. He's not going to hell, ....We should know, most of us live in a > version of hell everyday. ;-) The nice part of Catholicism is that we can always count hell on earth as years off in purgatory. Of course, Protestants don't have to worry about purgatory in the first place. And neither do atheists. , I wouldn't assume anything. If your husband is a good man, who knows? I do not believe that God damns good men and God can do whatever he wants anyway. Faith is supposed to be a gift from God; it seems a mite unfair to refuse to give someone the gift of faith and then to damn that person for not having any. I do not believe in THAT kind of God. Perhaps God would value all the more those who live good lives without benefit of faith? At any rate, it's not worth second-guessing Him.
