Guest guest
>>> If I'd had the attention span to go to university instead of college, I would have studied theology.<<<< > OK trivia queen...what would be the difference between university and college? Penny - who went to college. < penny, i see you got several answers already, but they were all quite longwinded here's a simpler answer ... a college is where you go for like 2 years to get a certificate degree or an associates. to get a larger degree than that, you need to go to university. gina - who went to college and university " Why is it that everytime I think I know the answers, someone goes and changes the questions?? Guest guest
> Not in Canada!!!!!! In Canada university and college are entirely independant of one another. You can use your college diploma towards one or two university credits later if you want to go to university, but you still start at the bottom of the university program. Two entirely separate systems. To get into university, you need to have completed an extra year of high school (5 years total) at the 'advanced' level; to get into college you only need 4 years of high school at the 'general' OR 'advanced' level. Jacquie < sorry, you're right. gina- who didn't read the longwinded responses before she posted " Why is it that everytime I think I know the answers, someone goes and changes the questions?? As far as here in the states, you can get a BS, Masters, etc., at " college " . (At least in NH you can). I was attending a technical college where I was working on my BS when all hell broke loose (read: I lost my mind and it took years to find it) :-), and I had to stop going......
