Good morning Sharon and all my MSer Friends! I am actually having a horrible morning...has to do with family junk, and trying to decide if I should go to PA for my folks' 61st Anniversary. My younger sis took my 2 younger kids this am, but was concerned about taking my 12 yr old son, as he told her, he wasn't 100% after a stomach bug he had 4 days ago...so, after dropping all 3 of them off at her place, which is 20 min. 20 min back. She called me and said she didn't think he should go...So...had to drive there again and home again...Had double vision both trips, on and off. I'm having a pseudo flare my neuro said in response to the UTI which hasn't completely resolved, so having bad eye pain/ON...So, maybe not a good idea to drive 3 hrs to PA, and 3 hrs. home tomorrow;hubby can't come, he's working. I just feel mad at my sis. I know we need to keep my parents germ-free--I just don't think my son is contagious...i dunno...

Listen Sharon, a question I asked on LDN group was, but wasn't answered (yet): does the LDN help with the TN pain and does LDN help with either fatigue or depression? I would be spitting nails myself if they ducked my question too, Sharon...They are just dancin around the LDN these days, and it is gettin me real mad too! It is a fairly recent thing for me to have twinges on the L side, my TN has only been on the R for the last 10 yrs now. Ok, sorry to let loose and vent like this...I'm just SO mixed up..dunno if its meds...but i just have a heck of a time making decisions these days~esp. when it involves family vs health...dunno, thanks for listening..hugs, kate Trigeminal Neuralgia and LDN...To: MSersLife > Hi Kate:> > My trigeminal neuralgia is acting up too. Kate,

I am so sorry you're having such a horrid day, I hope it gets better...My input on the Pa trip is this...stay home and sometime during the day, call them. I'd Hate for something to happen to you during such a long trip, and I know your parents sure would not want the guilt from you hurting yourself just to please them.

Why can't your sister take you as well?

Peace and Blessings~*~ Akiba ~*~Pragmatic Visionary & Eternal Optimist! http://yodamamma.blogspot.com/ http://www.solay-twinflames.com

Oh, I forgot to answer this part...

I am one of the lucky ones that does not have TN, but I Can tell you that LDN helps me with both depression *and* fatigue. I was unable to Get a prescription so I got my Naltrexone online and had it shipped from overseas, then I take the pill and dissolve it in water, and dose myself that way (I take a baby syringe and measure it out at night then swallow it, a whole heckova lot better then shots I'll tellya!!!!!!)

Thanks for the feedback on this Akiba. As the TN, depression and fatigue are usually the most constant and troubling things to me, it looks like I'll try to go with the LDN. I would like to hear if it addresses the TN however--so tired of taking meds for that, and most of the time they don't work anyway! hugs, kate Re: Trigeminal Neuralgia and LDN...To: MSersLife > Oh, I forgot to answer this part...> I am one of the lucky ones that does not have TN, but I Can tell > you that> LDN helps me with both depression *and* fatigue. My sis has a small Honda Civic, and can only fit 3 in the back and one in the front, so a total of 4 from my family. We have 5 going...my folks don't know i have MS. I took 400mgs of tegretol at one time this am cause the TN pain is so bad. My 2 younger ones that are with her might be upset that I am not going, and I was worried about Luke and Lia who were going to go with me, that they would be disappointed, but they are playing their new Wii machine, and seem happy. so...it's the guilt i tell ya! Even worse, what if you crashed and they died but you didn't? Can you even imagine anything worse that that? I can't. SO stay home, yet!

Why haven't you told your parents? And why couldn't your sister have driven your car? With ALL y'all in it?

Nosy, I know...

Are you getting any of the snow?

I wish we were getting snow for Pete's sake! Way upstate, by the lakes, they are getting like 10 to 20 feet with lake effect...

I had NEVER thought of that Akiba...gee whiz...I'd just simply jump off a bridge if that would happen. My folks are 82 and 83, my dad has progressing Alzheimers--he's not totally gone yet, but slowly heading that way. My mother gets waaay to stressed out hearing anything bad. She has lung CA, and AAA--an abdominal aortic aneurysm...my sister is big time control freak! She would NEVER drive my van...I like that you are nosy...that was kinda another reason i didn't wanna go--as i'm progressing with the MS, it gets a bit trickier to hide things, ya know? i WANT SNOW!!!!!!!!

Sharon, by the way, I feel like I totally ignored that you are in pain with your TN...I'm sorry, I get into my own head, my own stuff...and neglect others...I'm sorry...I surely do feel for you...Just called the hosp. Jeff is in--I asked if he was in a reg. room or ICU--he's in that awful 'holding' place...wanna send him some flowers and balloons--butcha can't if someones' in ICU...later gators...kate Trigeminal Neuralgia and LDN...> > To: MSersLife > > > > > Hi Kate:> > > > > > My trigeminal neuralgia is acting up too. I know she made you one Akiba~I have been very envious of that fact for some time now! :(

But a good Christian is not supposed to envy..so I have to work on that lol! Anyways...more prayers needed--my father in law, , due to his end stage renal disease--and very poor circulation, had to have his long toe--the one next to the big toe, amputated today...do you believe they send you right home after that? Just local anethesia, then he went for dialysis at his center, then home! His poor wife, Rose, has yet another contraption to deal with--he already has a colostomy she cares for, he can't walk anymore, and now this bloody tubing--they have left the toe completely uncovered and draining ...and yuck! She is a strong woman...but I pray for her perseverance and peace.... -- Re: Trigeminal Neuralgia and LDN...

I haven't found that LDN helped the TN. In fact I've had more of the stabbing TN pain since being on LDN. I think it's a coincidence. Oh Kate... don't apologize for not saying anything about my TN pain. You aren't getting snow???? I thought you were in Northern New York. Clearly I've never looked up your town on a map. I can't believe the snow levels I'm hearing of for Northern NY. Wow! That even beats what we had in Alaska. We had 4 to 5 feet of snow on the ground all winter long. But never 8 feet at once! Sharon~We are only about 21 miles north of Manhattan, in Ossining, NY-called the lower Hudson Valley. All we have had all winter so far, is say, maybe 2 inches? Which is gone now, except a bit left on the grass....Ya remember in the old gangster movies--gonna send ya up the river--to Sing-Sing?---well that is the town/village we are in. The River they refer to is the Hudson, and this town used to be called Sing-Sing, now Ossining. The prison used to be called Sing-Sing, but now is something more politically correct, like Ossining Correctional Facility or something like that. It was the prison that they put that couple in the electric chair...the Sternberg's? oh i forget, my brain is bad--but it was a famous and controversial case...hugs, kate Re: Trigeminal Neuralgia and LDN...To: MSersLife > Oh Kate... don't apologize for not saying anything about my TN > pain. > > You aren't getting snow???? Thank you for lettin me know bout that Sharon! Cause that is probably one of the worst parts of my MS--I mean I'm not thrilled using a cane...and now having a handicapped 'hangar' for my car! But the TN pain and the fatigue and depression are my worst things I think. I do notice if I have: caffiene, chocolate, or any processed foods, it intesifies the pain of the TN, so I'm trying to stay away from that all. The reason that happens is that all those things are acidic=inflammation; so it triggers a response in the TN. blessings...hope all are having a peaceful day...kate Re: Trigeminal Neuralgia and LDN...To: MSersLife > I haven't found that LDN helped the TN. Maybe LDN would help you. Many people say it helps their pain levels. I haven't ever noticed an increase of LDN activity when I eat those things. And I refuse to consider it because I am hooked on coffee.
