I found hyfercated and hyfrecated on google. Hyfercated means to numb and

hyfrecated is a wart treatment. There is actually a medical device called a

Hyfrecator which apparently removes warts.

Can someone give me the correct spelling for this word. I cannot locate it

anywhere and I have spelled it just about everyway known to man. Thanks.

Could this be hyfrecated.

I know I have seen a long discussion on this board about this word before,

but I cannot recall the correct spelling. This is all I could find in

Tessier's Word Book and could not find the definition.

Bev,

The correct word is " hyfrecated. " The actual machine is called a Hyfrecator,

which is a desiccator-fulgurator-coagulator, per Vera Pyle 8th edition. It

is used to stop the bleeding after removal of nevi, etc. One of the docs I

transcribe uses this all of the time when he does minor office surgeries such

as shave biopsies. I hope this helps.
