We live in a very drafty old brick farm house (it's nearly 200 years old) at the end of a dead end road. Those winds were terrible !! - there is nothing but empty fields on 3 sides of us to break the wind. There were small drifts in the corners of a few window sills and at the bottom of the front door. We also have fuel oil heat. On an average cold day, we burn about 10 gallons a day and with fuel at $2.39 a gallon, that comes to $23.90 a day for heat on a non-windy day and that's with the temp set at 65. Yesterday we had to have to have used twice that amount of fuel. The fuel oil heat is why our rent is so low. Otherwise, no one could afford to live here year round ! Our bedroom and the living room are on the side that was getting hit with the wind yesterday. I was wearing a long underwear top, a T-shirt, a sweat shirt, long john bottoms, pair of jeans and sweat pants and a jacket and was still cold. Good thing I don't have to go anywhere today - there's a 5 foot (or taller) snow drift behind my car a ........ in Michigan nne~?! Huh? REally 50 degrees in your house? That can't be good! I did hear keeping it cool helps with strengthening your immune system and germs can't survive in that much cold! LOL! But that seems kinda low...I mean I could see, 58... Now I'm gonna worry bout you and Chuck not being warm enuf!!! big, warm, cuddly hugs, kate> No I absolutely hate it. Because of our financial situation we > have to keep the heat on 50. So we are more than ready for > spring or at least warmer temps. Its not snowing any more I > don't think, but the winds are between 20-30mph with higher > gusts and they are saying drifts from 2-4 ft!> > Hugs> nne No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition.Version: 7.1.411 / Virus Database: 268.17.39/685 - Release Date: 2/13/2007

Can't one of you qualify for SSI or SSDI ??? a ...... in Michigan You can't get Social Security until you are 62. Then you loose a percentage of it for not waiting until 65. I will be 62 in Oct. Chuck will be 66 in May. Guest guest
I love it out here - very quiet They grand kids love coming out here because they can go outside alone, go next door and feed the ducks and chickens ... stuff they can't do at home. Wish we could buy the house - it needs a lot of work and it isn't worth putting that kind of money in something that isn't yours a ..... in Michigan Oh wow a! Guest guest
WOW, Kathi, I really love this picture. Would you mind if I save it to my photos and use for personal use? Usually we got up and went to Brownsburg to see his neice and nephew and had lunch there and played.> > This year I will see if my brother and his family will be home. they may go to my sister-in-laws family. If not my aunt invited me over there. But I'm afraid it's going to be way too hot for my anywhere I go. I will go to my parents house for a while too. I bought a lemon cheesecake to take over. So I won't be home alone much. Unless it's too hot everywhere. Then I'll come home. I'd rather be myself than too hot and getting vertigo. Which I woke up with some today. First time in MONTHS have had any inkling of vertigo. I'm not too happy. It makes me even more mad at STeve...lol> Thanks for thinking of me Bill.> Shirley> x0x0x0x0> > > .> > > > > __________________________________________________>
