Well, at least there were no geese this time? LOL The potty buckets reminded me of a lady up here. We have many different sorts of houses and set-ups and ways of life around here. Fully on-grid, completely off-grid and everywhere in between. Power company, solar, wind, generator, etc. Water comes from wells or is hauled in, few have the artisan wells. Propane for cooking and/or heating for some. Others use woodstoves, pellet stoves, fireplaces, and so forth. Houses are site-built, modular, mobile, cabins, travel trailers, tents, hay bale, Earthship, etc., etc.. Anyway... You never know what you'll find and it's never really a surprise to find anything. LOL I visited a Midwife in our area. At the time, they had an outhouse. Really a very nice outhouse! As big, or bigger than, many in-home

bathrooms. And far better decorated than a lot of in-home bathrooms I've seen. LOL Mauve walls, pretty little decorations, window in the back, padded seat on a large "potty platform", etc. Eventually, it became a storage shed, holding bikes and whatnot, when a in-door bathroom was hooked up in their shop. They'd long ago moved from the old school bus turned "house" and into the the house they built. In their home (a partially underground Earthship and beautiful!! -- oh the craftsmanship found in that house!), they did have an in-door bathroom, but no water and such run. The sink is there and waiting. The platform for the bathtub is ready, built high and with custom steps up. Lots of storage and shelving. The area for the toilet is set up, but no toilet is in. Instead, for the time being, they have framed a small box (basically), topped with a padded toilet seat, and a five gallon bucket

set in the "box". That's what I used. Very interesting! LOLOL Challis Sharon Marsden wrote: I was just joking with you Jackie. Yes, we had it worse in AK than you did but I didn't need a breathing machine like you did. I'm so glad you made it through! It's amazing what a person can do if they have to, isn't it? I had trouble going

potty on a bucket but it was way better than trying to make it to the outhouse. I only went to the outhouse twice that winter and I fell both times. love...Sharon I was trying to daydream, but my mind kept wandering. <!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]--><!--[endif]--> Re: My news and Sharon ....... I'm so glad to hear from you! I was wondering if you were in the outage area I've been hearing about on the news. What did you do for water? Did you have emergency water jugs anywhere? I just can't do without water so, to me, that would be the biggest problem. I'll bet you are tired from no sleep. Is there any kind of emergency back-up power you can have

for your breathing machine? How did your hubby do? love...Sharon ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ __
