Guest guest
, When a person gets the temps stable at 98.6ish, at what point do you start going back on the Armour? and is it gradually? and how do you calculate how much and when? Also, are you seeing that the ratio difference in people makes a difference in how long it takes to clear the RT3 out? For instance, my ratio was 8, my daughter's was 18, her T3 was 8.7 and RT3 was 474. She felt really great at first when going over to T3, but now is experiencing depression at 75mg. She has been on it 9 weeks. I told her to increase, which she hadn't done for a while. She is away in college , so I am doing this long distance with her. Thanks, K
Guest guest
I have tried on 2 occasions to go back on to Armour after being on T3 for a few months. Both times I immediately became very hypo I assume because my body was converting the T4 in Armour to RT3. It is very hard to make the switch. My daughter was more successful then I was but she completely stopped all thyroid meds for nearly a month after being on T3 for several months. Only after becoming very hypo from no treatment at all & gaining 20 lbs in that month she then began taking Armour again. She does not seem to have a return of RT3 issues like I did. Guest guest
Depression in hypothyroiism is caused by low T3. She does mneed an increase and the RT3 is not totally cleared at this point. I found it takes all of 12 weeks to feel the full effects of the T3. Then there is no reason Iahve found to go to Armouratall, unless oyu just want to or are worried about liow calcitoinin, in a young person that could be a worry. Once temps are stable at 98.6 and NO hypo symoptoms remain is time to change back to Armourif you choose but it is not a really easy transition, and is MUCH slower than going to T3 as you must wait for the T4 to build at each slow increase of Armour. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Guest guest
Since I was never tested for RT3, but went on T3 only on suspicions, I don't know if I ever did actually have a problem. But..............I have tried to go back to dessicated (thyroid S) twice this year and was unsuccessful both times. I have decided to stay on T3 only for now. It might even be just that I am so impatient, but I have unresolved symptoms even with thyroid and HC as good as I can get them going by temps and BP, so that the immediacy of T3 only is very helpful. This means that as I try other things for my unresolved symptoms, I can quickly adjust T3 if necessary, and don't have to wait weeks and weeks while T4 builds up or down and I can almost ignore thyroid as long as my temps and BP are good, and just deal with the new stuff. sol Gale wrote: > I have tried on 2 occasions to go back on to Armour after being on T3 > for a few months. Guest guest
Sol, That sounds just like my story. I really regret ever starting the T3 only therapy without having the RT3 tested. I suspect that I did not actually have a hugh RT3 problem at the time that I started the T3. Now I may never be able to sucessfully go back to Armour from the T3. Live & learn so they say. Guest guest
Well I am guinea pig again! I am going to try to go back to Armoru ONE MORE TIME. COST is the main reason, that and I still can;t lose any weight. I am actully lowering HC at the moment and down to 20mg starting today! YAY!!!! I am hopefyul with the addition of the GH that my conversion process will work better this time, and it may as GH is intertwined in the conversion process of T4 to T3. And probabyl thus from T3 to T2 and T1. So I may be missing out on the benefits of T2 which is far from an inactive hormone too. I am gonna do this EVER so slowly though. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
I just tried the very same thing myself Val. Just 2 weeks ago I gave up & went back to T3 only. I had dropped 37mg of T3 over 3 weeks & started on 90mg of Thy-S. I held that for over a month then realized that I had many hypo symptoms returning. I wish you much luck.
