Baby!!!

Well, I woke up this morning to the phone ringing in my ear. I thought about just letting the voicemail pick it up. But, I'm glad I answered. It was my daughter calling to tell me that my other daughter was in the hospital. She went into labor yesterday (6 weeks early), and delivered a healthy pre-mature little baby boy. I can't remember the name!! But, he weighed in at 6lbs. He'll be in the hospital for a few days.

I'm delighted! And although, I love each and every one of my little grandies, I sure wish their mothers would slow down some. Good grief, I'm only 47!! At this rate, I'm going to be a great grandma at the age of 55!! Ahhhhh, Oh well, at least I'll still be able to enjoy them for awhile.

CONGRATULATIONS!

He is a big preemie. My [31] was 8 weeks early, and weighed in at 4

lbs. He stayed in an incubator until he was 5 lbs, and I could take him home

then, Christmas Eve 1975. He was lucky as he didn’t have to be put on a

respirator, or have any trauma episodes. The only thing was he couldn’t

suck. So they had to tube feed him. To this day he has no gag reflex, and I’m

sure its because of having the tube put down his

throat every day. He stayed in the hosp. 2 weeks.

Big

hugs! Jackie [wanting more grand babies!!]

(((Jackie)))

Thank you! Yes, he is a big preemie. My daughter is so tiny herself. If she had carried him full term, she probably would have popped! I'm wondering why his lungs weren't more developed. (my daughter) gets to go home tomorrow. The baby has to stay until his lungs develop enough to be taken off the respirator. Poor little guy. Reminds me so much about 's birth. I almost lost her. Her lungs had been crushed. She's a very strong little lady, though. She's a good mother.

I remember, they had to tube feed her too. It was so scary for me to see an IV needle stuck in her head! Seems like she had tubes coming out of every which way. She was in the hospital 2 weeks also.

I'm glad pulled through okay. If you're like me, it's kind of hard not to be a little over protective, isn't it?
