Guest guest
Hi,…….we had a poodle/terrier mix, and her name was Sugar Bear! She was more my son’s dog than mine, but she was with us for 16 years. I am rethinking my decision about whether to get another dog. I’ll wait until we move, but I will probably end up with a smaller one. :-) and a cat! YES? Guest guest
Well Moochie was bought for the kids. Promised to walk him, clean up after him etc. WRONG!!! LOL Guess who did everything? You got it, me! So naturally Moochie was more attached to me than anyone else. In the summer after Chuck would leave for work I would lay back down till around 8 or so. Moochie would follow me and look at the bed and I would say, ok jump up. He would go right to Chucks pillow and lay his head on it facing me! It was so cute :-) Hugs nne Breast Cancer Patients Soul Mates for Lifehttp://www.geocities.com/chucky5741/breastcancerpatients.htmlBreastCancerStories.comhttp://www.breastcancerstories.com/content/view/433/161/Angel Feather Loomerwww.angelfeatherloomer.blogspot.comCheck out my other ornaments atwww.geocities.com/chucky5741/bcornament.htmlLots of info and gifts at:www.cancerclub.com RE: nne.........RE: Sad way to start the New Year..... Guest guest
nne, They are such wonderful creatures aren't they? I don't know what I'd do without my Butter Brown (his name is actually Buster Brown, but I like Butter better).. He does what your Moochie did.. in the morning (I don't always get up with in the a of m) lets him outside to potty.. and says that he barrels back in through the door and veers off toward the bedroom, where he can hear him jump up on the bed, and I guess in my sleep I pull the blankets back till he lays down, and then I cover him up... and it's like that every morning! And talk about spoiled.. and I sleep on one side of a double bed, while Butter spreads out all over the other half!!! and has learned to sleep with covers over him, because the puppy likes to be under covers as well.... Now this puppy I speak of is a fairly large Boxer.. I've never really had a dog though that cares for two people equally.. They usually favor one person more.. But the only time you know for sure which of Butter's daddy or mommy that he favors more.. is when we play the " Tap Tap, ouch Butter, help, he's hurting me, or she's hurting me " game... If I'm the one doing the tapping, then Buster sits on the floor, looks up at me with sad eyes, and kinda of whimpers.. as if saying, " Oh, please mommy stop hitting daddy " ... HOWEVER.. if is the one doing the tapping... It doesn't take long for a hand to end up in a mouth with a low growl issuing from deep within... LOL.. But we are NOT allowed to sit on the same couch together, let alone get close!!!!.. puppy WILL find his way into the middle somehow, even if he has to physically climb into someone's lap and push them aside.. LOL.. He is my constant companion.. When I'm in the computer room during the day, he spreads his sleeping bag out on the floor behind me, to suit himself, and lays down and starts to snore... and he talks to me during the day as well.. And regardless of what most people think.. I do believe this dog understands everything I'm saying and all of my actions.. From time to time, the death of my son still overwhelms me... and should the tears start to flow, I don't know how this dog knows it, but he does (cause I'm usually silent).. he's right there... If I'm in bed laying down, I got a paw on either side of my head, and a nose pressed up against mine.. and then he starts to kiss me.. His mommy isn't allowed to be upset... But then when the thunder-boomers start (he is highly gun shy) or the neighbors set off fireworks... or he's cold or scared or not feeling well.. he comes to mommy to be comforted.. guess he thinks he's returning the kindness when he cares for mommy when she hurts.. Oh, and at shot time, he sits quietly right there beside me, doesn't make a move (does he know that his weight shifting could cause the needle to slip?).. until it's all over.. and if it happens to be one that stings a bit.. he's right beside me hovering.. I'm sorry that you've lost your faithful friend and companion. I do feel your loss, because I don't know if I could take losing my buddy... Parrots are nice, and when they talk they are fun.. but they just can't cuddle the same way a puppy can... Guest guest
One of my all time favorite dogs was a big brindle boxer, her name was "Chata" which is both a Spanish endearment and a word meaning short (or pug). She was AWESOME, beautiful both inside and out. Thought she was a lapdog (at 90 lbs...yeah, shuuuure) I miss her still! Guest guest
~ Let me go into my settings and see if there's something going on there. Maybe it's at this end. I have problems some times sending messages to the group also. For some reason they won't go through. You are correct. They seem to be going through on the replies though. Thanks for letting me know.
