Guest guest
18mcg cytomel is not = to 2grains NT. the lack of T4 has to be made up when you switch. Since there's no more T4 storage, there needs to be additional T3 on hand. I can't remember Val's conversion but it will be more than 18mcg. Is this NP opposed to dosing by symptoms too? Or is she your pill dispenser at the moment? Would she understand temp graphing? Maybe print articles that say that RT3 is cleared out in x weeks, and cannot increase on T3 meds. yes its nuts! Tasia > > My NP's instructions with my new Cytomel rx say stop the 2 grains NT > and begin taking 5mcg Cytomel/day for 1 week, then increase to > 10mcg/day. A monthly full thyroid panel and RT3 test required. Talk > about Nazi NPs! > > According to what I've learned here, 2 grains NT would be equiv to > 18mcg Cytomel. Is there any benefit or logic to her protocol? > > How often do I need to take a Reverse T3 test - or do I ever have to > take another one? > Thanks, > Cheryl >
