Guest guest
All this talk about having to have dental surgery is starting to scare me. REALLY! I have to have 4 molars surgically removed. I don't know who do go to to have the work done. Can I go to any dentist, or does it have to be someone who specializes and knows something about MS? I know...A woman my age, how can I be so naive? Let's just say, I've been living under a rock. Guest guest
Valene, I'm sorry that my post about having the molars removed scared you.. I forgot that not everybody has as easy a time going to dentists as I do. There are a lot of children as well as adults who don't do well with someone messing inside their mouth. I can't say that you need a dentist that specializes in MS, but I would suggest someone who genuinely cares about people who are apprehensive of dentists There are some fantastic dentists out there that handle themselves and their patients quiet well..... And don't say " a woman your age " ... it's not uncommon... My oldest son didn't like dentists at all.. my youngest would sit back and open his mouth and let them do anything... But I think that all came from how their very first dental trip and dentist handled the situation... I remember Earl's, my youngest, first dentist visits.. he suggested that his dad schedule his appointment at the same time (so we both took him to the dentist).. and daddy have the first sit in the dentists chair.. And while he worked on daddy, he explained to the kiddo what he was doing and why, while the kiddo watched.. never had a problem with Earl at all.. EVEN when he had root canals (pulpotomies in kids)... The oldest avoided dentist's like the plague... Bad experiences with dentists as kids, cause the problems we have as adults... doesn't do dentists well, and I had a girlfriend who actually had severe panic attacks just entering the dentist's office.. Check around and see if you don't have some dentists in your area that specialize in apprehensive patients first.. you can always educated him about the needs of an MS patient if he doesn't already know.. but I'm betting that someone who cares about the special patients, will also know quite a bit about treating those with MS as well.. I'm sorry again for scaring you... |)onna Valene wrote: > > All this talk about having to have dental surgery is starting to scare > me. REALLY! I have to have 4 molars surgically removed.
