I never have liked putting the shot in my arm so I never do that one. I told the share solution nurse one time and she said that was fine. I do use my legs and around my buttock. I use my stomach area the most along with my insulin shots. I keep the Auto Injector at 6. I get that quick sting a few times but it goes away fast. I like Copaxone because I have never had any side effects.

Getting Shared Solution to help out was very fast they just asked for me to fax them my last years tax return for approval.

And I was going to be without coverage for a month's supply.. Contacted Biogen's (Avonex) equivalent to Shared Solutions, and they were extremely helpful when I explained the situation, they sent me the month's supply for free.. which was great.I haven't had any trouble with getting my Copaxone, other than jumping through my Primary Insurance Company's hoops.. Then having to contact them because the pharmacy said that it was denied.. though was told the pre-auth went through.. when I called them, fortunately I got a fantastic rep who said.. "Ummmm but it's been approved all but the $20 co-pay".. when I told him the pharmacy keeps telling me when they try to bill it (and they wouldn't order it until they were sure they were getting paid) that it was denied.. the gentleman took the matter further up the chain of command.. to find out that someone somewhere along the line transposed numbers or something.. that prevented it from going through.. (whether it was an "intentional" goof or inadvertent I dunno, but it's fixed... except I have to remind the pharmacy that the script gets "double-billed" and that when the 2nd insurance denies it they have to call the company and have it overridden.. The 2nd company authorized it as well (they're only paying the $20 co-pay.. why wouldn't they authorize it.. lol).. however, they supply Copaxone from an entirely different source, and when it comes from a pharmacy it fouls up their system and comes back to the Pharmacy as denied...I have joined and spoken to a nurse, someone who answers the phone & a peer from Shared Solutions... Its funny how some places sting more then

others. I put my Rebif shots in my stomach or hips. The legs and arms sting too

much and stay red and sore. I also have an autoinjector for the Rebif. I found

that the stomach area is the easiest. It stings less when I remember to put the

shot out at room temperature. Seems to sting more when cold.

unrefrigerated for 5 or 7 days with no problems.. and Copaxone is 7 days

unrefrigerated... The person I spoke to at Shared Solutions after the

1st injection that stung for 3 hours, told me that most of the Copaxone

users take out one card of injections at a time and leave them (so

you've got 5 doses out at a time, no more than 7) out so that the come

to " true " room temperature... he also told me that an hour just isn't

enough to bring the syringe and contents to room temperature..

Don't know if you can do this, or might want to try it with Rebif or

not.. At least you'd have more than one out, and not have to worry about

remembering to set it out before injecting.

Sorry to butt in.. but I have a tendency to do that... LOL

Me too!! I take the Rebif and I take 3 doses out at a time, enough for my one week's worth of injections. It does take the sting out of the shot.

get any advice. That’s what we are all here for J

Rebif comes in prefilled glass syringes.

They can’t be kept out of the fridge for more then a day. You take Rebif

3times a week. I am really bad about remembering to put them out. I am flying

to Germany

in a few days and will need to figure out all the logistics of traveling

overseas with the syringes. Going to call the Rebif people on Tuesday.

Is that right? OMG!! I thought that you could keep the Rebif out of the fridge. for up to a week?? Uh...oh.

And I was just telling Donna I take 3 out at a time. Enough for a weeks injections. Wow, I not only feel stupid, but I sure hope I haven't done any kind of damage to myself.

I watched several of those parrot video's those are fun to watch those birds must be fun to own. You must have to be patient and be willing to work with them to bring out what they can do. Do birds like that have both good and bad attitudes.

This is a video I put together om my Youtube and it is from old home movies my parents made when we were young. This was a birthday party for my mom Loretta. You will see me I may have been 5 in the video. In one scene I was sitting in a chair giving a goofy smile. At the end of the video it switch's to a birthday party mom and dad gave me. The film ends at that point but in that part you will see my bird cage I had at that time. I had a parrotkeet in it. My parents only let my brother and sister have one birthday party as we grew up and that was mine at that time. What I remember the most on that day was one of my friends let my bird loose to fly around at my birthday party. It was funny.

He'll respond if you ask him a question, and that's what he was wanting, and he won't respond (just stands there and looks at you like you're an idiot.. lol) when it's not what he's asking for.. LOLIt's gotten to be quite comical at feeding time for the parrots.. I can't go in and feed them any more, not enough balance for a parrot to step up (and they do without being asked to now).. and take a ride to the sink to get their water or anything.. so has to do the feedings... Well Joe, the little green goober, has taken quite a fancy to Roxie, the blue footed wench.. Now Roxie is a "woman's" bird.. she's momma's baby.. though she has gotten much better with over the past 4 years.. specially now since momma doesn't come to her as frequently as she did.. Roxie knows that daddy is a means to an end.. so she's, for the most part, gotta be nice...Now every once in a while.. Roxie will give "the business" when he goes in to feed them and stuff... She'll smack him on the back of the head with her beak, or grab his glasses and toss them on the floor (she doesn't bother my glasses though.. go figure.. LOL).. When gives Roxie "hell" for doin' those kinds of things.. Joe comes runnin' over, Jumps on 's shoulder.. and bites his ear!!! and then he chatters away.. Hmmm.. patience with parrots... I guess patience is a part of it.. I

know that before Roxie came to live with us, she did some screaming for

her former mommy... but her former mommy learned after Roxie had come to

live with us that there was a reason for her screeching... the hubby

there would toss rolls of toilet paper or paper towels at her cage when

mommy wasn't home.. because she liked to scream, and he didn't like to

hear her scream... he started a cycle that continued... They are very

vocal... but usually only first thing in the morning and last thing

before dark... it's a " flocking " instinct... Roxie doesn't screech much

anymore.. unless the kids next door are in the yard a little too close

to the fence on our property... And she definitely didn't like the guy

who rented the other half of the neighbors house.. I know when the pizza

guy delivers if it's still daylight outside and they haven't roosted for

the night... I know if there is a squirrel on the fence or in the fenced

area... Roxie doesn't think they should be there, and she lets me know..

Better watch dogs than watch dogs!

And yeah, I think they can have good attitudes and bad attitudes...

Pepper, our Congo African Grey has a great attitude when it comes to

men.. but she absolutely abhors females.. and I do mean abhors.. she'd

tear me to pieces if given the chance. And even as small as her beak

is.. she could do some major damage if she'd get a hold of me. She has

already went to nail me and got in between and she missed and bit

his finger.. the bite went nearly to the bone... and one time she nearly

took a dime-size chunk out of his arm.. once again, thinking she was

going to get me, but he got in the way... She'd never intentionally hurt

her " daddy " .. But I'm pretty sure that her hatred of women stems from

some past experience.... We are her fourth home, and were her fourth

home by her 4th hatchdate!

Joe, the little green goober, who is quite featherless on his belly and

shoulders these days.. has an attitude.. can't say that it's a good one

or a bad one.. he bites.. and his little beak is sharp and pointy.. but

fortunately it is a tiny beak.. so he can't cause much damage when he

does bite.. still wouldn't trade him for the world.. and do threaten to

have a beak replacement done on him.. (trade the real one for a rubber

one).. he's still a bundle of laughs.. I was sitting on the floor,

cleaning out the bottom of his and Roxie's cage (he won't stay in or on

his own.. he's gotta be on Roxie's cage).. when I heard him singing

above me... and it dawned on me what he was singing... " I got a hot rod

Ford and two dollar bill " ... He loved Hank .. and he has always

done the " Heyyyyyyyyyy good lookin' " part of the song.. lol.. but that

part floored me.. I had to sit and laughed.. He mimics our coughs.. and

we're trying to get him to say.. " Bad cough Joe, call nine one one " ..

but that must not catch his fancy, cause he won't say that.. he did

finish 's " Son of a B.... " one day... I used to say that when I

stump my toe on something when passing through the room he was in.. Had

to break that habit right quick.. after Roxie bit one day while

feeding him and he said " Ow.. son of a.... " caught himself and Joe

finished it... LOL

Roxie.. she's definitely got attitude.. she seems to KNOW that she's

just about as pretty as they come.. and that SHE is the center of

attention.. lol.. and she lets you know she thinks she is... She also

likes to redecorate walls.. She has removed the wallpaper from every

wall surface that she can reach in their room!!.. And she has bent the

curtain rod into a severe downward arch.. She hangs on the curtain and

bounces.. ... my poor window looks like the ghetto from the outside..

and my mother have a coronary if she would see that window from the

outside.. lol... Roxie and Joe have free roaming inside the bird room..

they are never locked inside their cage.. Pepper on the other hand, is

usually closed tightly inside her cage.. if she weren't she'd come out

here and pin me to the couch or into a chair or something.. We keep

their room door closed most of the time.. because Roxie thinks that if

she's free to roam the room.. Pepper should be too.. and waddles herself

over to Pepper's cage and opens ALL of the doors... and let's her out...

A week or so ago.. called to tell me that he was almost home.. to

be ready to go when he got here.. I'm sitting on the couch, putting on

my shoes.. with the dog dressed to go too, and sitting beside me on the

couch.. when I happen to notice the long blue tail feather on the floor

to the right of the coffee table.. and I'm thinking to myself... " How

did Roxie's tail feathers get out here on the floor? " .... (Okay.. so

sometimes my elevator doesn't go the whole to the top floor.. LOL).. So

I peek around the side of a box that was sitting on the floor beside the

coffee table.. and there by gosh is the WHOLE bird... And she's fearless

when it comes to the dog!!!.. and she wants to go for a ride on the

dog.. she's always putting out a foot saying " step up " when the dog is

around... and I'm just waiting for the day that the dog decides he's NOT

afraid of these feathered siblings.. I'm telling Butter to stay on the

couch.. stay away from Roxie, and trying to scoop her up quickly and get

her back on her cage.. that wasn't a problem.. she stepped right up on

my arm.. but when I get into their room.. I got a little green goober

running down the side of the cage, because he wants to step up too.. and

he and Roxie are great together.. unless one of their humans are in

the room.. then they bicker over who gets attention.. so I'm trying to

keep Joe off, get Roxie off, and realize that Pepper is sitting on her

water dish.. OUTSIDE her cage.. there's sbout two feet of floor space

between the two cages.. And I'm imagining bending over the cage.. to get

Roxie to walk off my back (cause at this point she was hanging on my

shirt, in the middle of my back, behind my head!) and I picture me

bending over.. and Pepper deciding to take one heck of a bite out of my

rear end!!!...

And I got a Nextel walkie-talkie in one hand trying to get to hold

one a second until I figure out how I'm going to handle this situation..

Oh.. there is definitely NEVER A DULL MOMENT where these parrots are

concerned.. LOL

Donna, I hearya about parrots. I had a Macaw for

years, had to sell him because of my job, I shoulda

kept the bird and ditched the job...he was awesome! A

blue & gold, named Capi...I loved that bird and have,

in a way, been looking for him ever since...
