Chuck, I'm so glad to hear there are no more lesions! I remember when my Mother was first dx'd, she was told a 90-something% is as close to 100% as an MSer will get. But, gee, it might be kinda nice to have a simple, benign tumor in a very easy location. Those can be done right away with! LOL wrote: Hi Sharon, Just got home from

He said that there is a very very small chance it's a tumor but if so there's nothing that can be done. He is almost certain of the MS because the steroids help so much and that is a good indication. The spasms hit hard during the night. It was about 1:30 a.m. when I first roused to the feeling of my big toe on the left leg stretching

up. I was so sleep that I didn't realize what was happening at first and I tried to stretch my foot down. BIG mistake! My left leg went into full flexed spasms and then the right leg did too. The right leg went into the other type of spasms with the deep, severe painful spasms. Years ago I described those spasms to my neuro as a "charley horse times a thousand". I went to two store yesterday where I had to walk. I used regular grocery carts and I felt the fatigue after the second store. Then I went to Wal Mart but I used a ride on scooter. Add to this that I am fight a cold. The adults in the house are the only ones without a cold. My two oldest grandsons (Challis' boys) are visiting me for several weeks and the 16 y/o came down with a cold after he was here. So my muscles were tired when I went to bed. Then I felt cold and put an extra comforter on the bed. When I woke with the spasms I

was really hot from the extra blanket and I'm sure that also contributed. The spasm were so painful. When those kind of spasms hit I usually get one deep in my inner thigh. It's like a tornado and I can feel the muscles twisting all the way to to thigh bone, I swear. lol I couldn't move because any movement at all increased the intensity of the spasms. I had to fight the involuntary urge to cry out--I fought it because I don't want to scare the stuffin' out of my grandkids. I finally was able to reach to my nightstand drawer and feel for my meds. I took an extra 10 mg. of Baclofen and an extra Klonopin (clonazapam) . I was as still as possible and the meds took hold and I finally was able to go back to sleep. At bedtime I already take 60 mgs. of Baclofen, 800 mgs. of Neurontin, and 1 and a half Klonopin. I'm gonna play around with my dosing today (increasing the Neurontin and Klonopin) and do my

stretching. What do YOU do when you are hit with these kind of spasms?I am bummed by this because I always worry that my MS is progressing even further, you know? I was supposed to see my neuro on the 14th but it's been rescheduled to the 29th. love to all of you,Sharon I was trying to daydream, but my mind kept wandering. Hi Challis, went to the Neuro today, he and his nurses are all wonderful, and very observant they notice things about me that I don't see. When they do it brings upmore questions and a larger search for answers, and everyone treats me as part of the family. It's nice to know they care about their patients, when we walk in it's always nice to be called by name and they kid around so you don't feel like a patient but a friend. Today they noticed I had a rash on my face that could possibly indicate Lupus. So without hesitation I was sent for some blood tests. I was also given my treatment of steroids when I got back from the blood tests. Even though my going for the blood test disrupted their schedule they made sure I got my treatment as soon as I got back from the hospital. The results from the blood tests will take about 3 weeks and should be back for my next appointment. My sons boss told him that she has a friend that was diagnosed in one visit the

other day and wonders what kind of a quack I am going to. I feel from reading other posts and talking to the family physician and neuro that it can take quite awhile to accurately diagnose MS from other autoimmune diseases. We told our son that in the group here there are quite a few that have had symptoms for many years but not a definite diagnosis. I have total faith in my doctors and know that they are only interested in my welfare. Sorry for the long post but this woman calling my drs a quack really irritates me. Chuck, if this is your idea of a long post, mine must kill you! ROFL Getting a dx in one visit?! Wow! Now that's impressive. Honestly, with the stories we hear most often, I feel a little nudge in me asking "who's this quack that dx's in one visit?!" ROFL Or maybe it's just better than "hey, no fair!"? LOL It's not really fair for this lady to feed worries I'm sure your son already has. She was probably trying to help, but there are ways to go about it and ways not to, eh? <g> Hugs, Challis Chuck Svihlik wrote: Hi Challis, went to the Neuro today, he and his nurses are all wonderful, and very observant they notice things about me that I don't see.
