Guest guest
Amy, I am so glad to here that things are going so well. You sound very happy and that is good to hear!! Tamara ----Original Message Follows---- Reply-To: parenting_autism To: parenting_autism Subject: Hello! Miss me? Date: Thu, 03 Jan 2002 19:38:51 -0500 Hello! I was reading some of the messages today, and thought I would pop in for a bit! It looks like you have all been very busy and there are probably a ton of new members on here who don't know who the hell I am. Howdy to all of you! First off, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year! I don't know about anyone else, but I'm ready for school to start! Things are going really well here. Kep is doing so wonderfully! One big improvement is that he is now sitting at the table for meals. He is staying in his seat for the entire thing! Wow! No more jumping up to run around, no more yogurt all over the house! Yippee! He is also interacting more with people and his vocabulary continues to grow. He is playing appropriately with most of his Christmas toys, and preferring them to the TV right now, which is great. We have had so much fun with the train set and the Mickey legos. He is still a real joy to be around (most of the time, right Salli?) and I'm constantly wondering where the terror of the house went. I don't miss the terror, but it's kind of weird. Bethany is also doing very well. She loves her therapist and we have completely eliminated bedtime anxieties. She is sleeping better than ever. This means my evenings are a lot more relaxing and I'm not quite so crabby! We still have other things to work on, but she has made a lot of improvement, and the therapist thinks she is doing great. I know you are all wondering about Cam and I, and that is going very well too. He has moved back in (along with his rescued kitty Stubs--long story) and things are going pretty smoothly right now. We play magic (card game) constantly and talk more than we ever did. The last six months gave him time to realize what was important and it gave me time to become more " even " on my meds. That combination has proved to both of us how silly it was that we split in the first place. We're even talking about the possibility of another baby! My mom is doing very well too. I go over a couple of times a week to give dad a break, shovel their drive, do whatever to make it easier for them. They go back to Cleveland on Monday for pre-op tests and then we will know when the next, and hopefully final, surgery will be. Thanks to everyone that sent her a card. She was so appreciative! OK, getting a bit long. Just wanted to let you all know what was up with me! Love and hugs to all, Amy H--in Michigan Kepler 4 1/2 ASD and Bethany 6 NT " There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, that it behooves all of us not to talk about the rest of us. Guest guest
Amy! What wonderful news! All of it, of course! How are the rest of Bethany's axieties and problems doing? Do you think her improvement is the counselor or Cam being there?
