Guest guest
Hi There..... I woke up this morning to our local newspaper's headlining a " piece " (of poop) about autism. If the weather in this small New England town wasn't dreary enough. http://www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080210/GJNEWS_01/720\ 819216 <http://www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080210/GJNEWS_01/72\ 0819216> A brief synopsis. Parents are frustrated because science is not finding out what is the cause of autism. They mention ABA a lot. Mercury a little. Dan slightly. Recovery None I told myself that I was not going to read this article because I knew that it was going to be pure dribble. I then had a second thought. If writers and editors are going to put this on the front page they should be held accountable. Then I thought of the parent that was (maybe) sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee in one hand and their head in the other. This cannot happen any longer. This type of journalism has to stop. If you have a moment to PLEASE write to bcook@... and let this person know that there is hope and that children are recovering, I would greatly appreciate it. Better yet the editor http://www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?category=FOSOPINION01 <http://www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?category=FOSOPINION01> Thank you from a mother in a teany tiny town, in a teany tiny state. Trying to make a difference for the children in my state and everywhere. Carol
