Guest guest
HI all I'd like to make comment on something Diane said regarding the idodine douches and then she said 'can you imagine' as though it were a negative. But...Indeed those Povidone Iodine douches can work wonders and I didn't want anyone to be afraid of them. (nothing against you Diane The brand name is Betadine, and it's known to help with Virus's, Yeast and Bacterial infections even protozoans or parasites and 'itch' as well. It's generally what a physician will give you to swab your vaginal area before a clean 'catch' for urine, mine always does. I've never had it irritate me at all, (the one thing though would be if someone were allergic to Iodine as even in seafood so that might be a possibility) Not to repeat myself (but I will, haha) we had a retired gynecologist on our list quite a while ago, who swore his patients reversed their bad pap tests that showed HPV when he had them douche with it. I 'still' have a bottle (years old as it is expensive) and ocassionally use it especially if I feel a 'yeast' infection coming on (you can almost tell) and it always dispells it for me. Just thought I'd correct that in case. Warmest regards Dee~
Guest guest
Hi Dee, I know they are good for the vagina but I was told later that they irritated more the vulva. At that time everything irritated me more. The douches made me much worse, I'm probably allergic to iodine (I was told that because I'm allergic to shellfish) but the doctor didn't bother to find out. Maybe it was why it burn me more. My vulva actually had burns! And he insisted on it. PRobably I got carried away while talking about that doctor. He was ver patronizing and very incompetent. When I went to see him last time with my problem (before I got married) he just told me " go make your nofmal life " and started to give me advice on marriage, as if he was a marriage counselor, and then left! Sorry, I know this is out of the topic, but I imagine that for many women with this disease, one of the worst things is being treated like crazy or idiotss. Guest guest
You are right. If you are allergic to shellfish you are probably allergic to iodine. And Povidine is different than just iodine. So anyone who wants to use iodine should be sure that what they are using is Betadine. Even Betadine is not only one product, The name can be on other products also some containing detergents. http://www.edoc.co.za/medilink/products/328.html http://www.edoc.co.za/medilink/products/327.html Ora On Fri, 17 Aug 2001 00:37:53 +0000, el_ocelotito@... wrote: >Hi Dee, > >I know they are good for the vagina but I was told later that they >irritated more the vulva. Guest guest
Dee is right, unless you are allergic to iodine, it does help relieve alot of problems. It is messy, so you have to be very careful about staining, Ter
