Yet another SH%#Y day!!

I have to vent....again....

Today she smeared poop three times!!!!! How much poop can the girl

possibly have?!!!!!!!!

I even tied rope around her jeans and over her shoulders....she got out of

it!!

I feel very guilty right now, but I gave her a clonidine to put her to sleep

because I just could not take it anymore. She is on the risperdal for

sleeping, the clonidine was left over from before. I feel like I drugged

her too much, but it was that or go crazy. I swear if she had done it again

today, I don't know that I would not have beat her cute little poopy

behind!!

I am soooooooo tired of this. I just don't know what to do. Thank god her

psych appointment is on the 8th. I hope that the doctor can do something

for her and for me. I can't do this much longer. I am so angry when she

does this that I scare myself.

Thanks for listening...

Tamara

Thanks! Actually, so far so good. She woke up in a great mood...slept like

almost 12 hours through. And she has just been a little sweetheart this

morning....lots of hugs and interactions....very cute. Thanks again and I

hope you never have to deal with this. Some kids do it and some don't...I

hope you're one of the lucky parents!!

Tamara, I'm so so sorry you had to go through that. :( I know exactly what

you mean about being so angry. I get that way too & it is really scary.

We WILL go to the post office today & I will send the harness the fastest

they can get it there. I just hope it works.

:(

Would she enjoy playing in an oatmeal & water or flour & water paste, do you

think? Could you confine her to the kitchen or bathroom or some other place

with a tile floor to let her play in it? You could even show her how to mix

it up so she could get it to the 'right' texture...

For Mikey's behaviors we have to find substitutes like that & do OT with

them every 2 hours, all day, every day, or he starts in on the behaviors

again. (Eating the drywall and digging at his eyes.) The trampoline has

MAJORLY reduced this as he can do his own OT whenever he feels the need. So

maybe you could set up a little " play station " for her...if she wouldn't

make a tremendous mess everywhere...where she could go mash stuff whenever

she needed to.

-Sara.

p.s. whenever get feeling that way, there are child abuse prevention

hotlines you can call and just vent to a real person...Look the number up

now, while you're feeling sane, and post it on the fridge. I'll include my

phone # with the harness too.

Thank you sooo much, Sara. I am hoping the harness works, too. The ot

ideas are helpful, too. YOU DO THAT EVERY TWO HOURS? How long each time?

It just seems like you would either be setting it up or cleaning it up

constantly! She does have a trampoline and she uses it a lot. Thanks for

the ideas!!

Vent away, hon. I remember only too clearly when

went thru his poop smearing stage (shudder).

Hope things get better soon.

I know I was approved, through Medicaid, to get a whole bunch of stuff that

the OT recommended. She had to write a letter requesting it with pages from

the catalog to order it from. Don't know if your Medicaid program would

cover that but it might be worth a try. On my list was: Trampoline (bigger

than the regular gym size ones), wiggle and sit, humbug massager, scissors,

putty, large therapy ball, peanut ball, weighted vest...etc. It totaled

beaucoup bucks... :)

I will definetely look into this...thanks for the heads up. I will call

tomorrow to see if they do that here. That would be wonderful as I would

really like to get the weighted vest and weighted blanket for her.
